Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Solve the Release the Curse Puzzle

The Haunted Floating Festival is back in Disney Dreamlight Valley, this time with new puzzles and rewards. It is a limited-time event that will remain active until October 31, 2026. One of the new puzzles requires you to restore the Grimoire with a missing page. In this guide, we will explain how to solve the Release the Curse Puzzle in Disney Dreamlight Valley for the Haunted Floating Festival.

The Haunted Floating Festival in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The Haunted Floating Festival is a time-limited event, taking place at a temporary floating island in the sky from October 7, 2026, to October 31, 2026. During the event, players can visit the new floating island and solve the puzzles to earn rewards. This is a returning event from last year. There were five puzzles last year, and four new puzzles have been added in this year’s event. Out of the four new puzzles, three of them are available, with the final one releasing later this month.

NOTE: If you have completed last year’s event, your progress will carry over.

How to Get to the Haunted Floating Festival Island

There are a couple of ways to get to the Haunted Floating Festival Island to participate in the event. The first method is to find and interact with a mysterious new portal in the Plaza. Merlin will take you to the newly appeared portal in the Plaza. The new portal is at the center of the plaza, opposite the portal to the Dark Castle. Interact with the new portal to teleport to the Haunted Floating Festival Island.

Alternatively, players can use the quick “Teleport” button under the event tab of the game to get to the new floating island. To do so, open the Haunted Floating Festival section under the Event tab, and you will see the Teleport option on the page. Select the teleport option, and the player will spawn on the island.

How to Solve Release the Curse Puzzle in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The Release the Curse Puzzle is inside the haunted house on the floating island. Enter the house and go over to the sparkling table on the left ahead. Interact with it to get a hint about the Grimoire that you need to restore. The Grimoire is in the bedroom, which is locked and can only be unlocked using the Repaired Haunted Key. Moreover, you will notice a few sparkling shelves, pumpkins, lion statues, and a ghostly fox around the house. The pumpkins, lion statues, and a ghostly fox will help you get the keys to reach the bedroom. Once you are inside the bedroom, you first need to complete the Haunted Library puzzle. This will unlock the Release the Curse puzzle, and then you can interact with the combination pillar to enter the symbols correctly.

How to Get the Repaired Haunted Key

For the Repaired Haunted Key, you need two of its fragments. One fragment is dropped by chasing after the ghostly fox inside the haunted house, and the other fragment is dropped by lighting all the pumpkins. Run across the haunted house and chase the ghostly fox until it drops the fragment. Go to the Basement, the door on the left inside the haunted house, to loot the chest to get the candles. There are two pumpkins in the basement that you can light up using the candles. Moreover, while you are in the basement, you will get a hint on breaking the statues using a pickaxe.

Exit the basement and go to the hallway to the bedroom to find the statue with a key. Break the statue to get the key for the chest in the basement. Go back to the basement to open the chest and get two more candles. Now, light up the pumpkins in the main room and the hallway to get the second haunted key fragment.

Once you have the two fragments, use the crafting station in the main room to craft the Repaired Haunted Key.

Order of the Symbols

If you have completed the Haunted Library puzzle, you should have unlocked a memory with the order of the symbols. The memory shows the locations where you can find the symbols in the house. You can go to every location to see the symbol for yourself and then put them in the respective order to complete it. Here is the correct order of the symbols for the puzzle.

1. Spider Web
2. Cat
3. Bat
4. Hat

After putting in all the symbols correctly, the lost magic page will drop on the floor. Pick it up and bring it to the Grimoire in the room. Contribute the page to the Grimoire to complete the puzzle.

A pouch will drop on the floor. Pick it up and open it in the inventory to get the Decorative Magic Seal as a reward.
