Does Starfield Feature Ship Combat?

Starfield is Bethesda’s upcoming RPG that offers players a genuine sci-fi adventure experience. Across the galaxy, there are numerous colonies spread across different planets, and players will have the opportunity to travel to them using their personalized ships. Starfield not only provides character customization but also allows players to personalize their ships. Ship creation can be as intricate as character creation, enabling players to meticulously design their ships into any shape. This innovative approach is a departure from traditional RPGs.

Players will have the ability to control their crafted ships in first-person mode and utilize the Grav Drive for extended space jumps. Many fans have questioned whether there will be space combat involving ships. Todd Howard, the director of Bethesda Games, confirmed in an interview that players will indeed engage in ship combat in outer space.

The ships come equipped with multiple weapon systems, each of which can be managed differently, granting players the opportunity to confront enemies strategically. Players are granted the freedom to modify their ship’s weaponry, allowing for the creation of different ship builds, such as tanks or utility ships. While specific details and specifications about the weapons remain unknown, it is confirmed that players will participate in space combat within the expansive world of Starfield.

Starfield is set to launch on September 6, 2023, for XBOX Series X|S and PC.
