Dragon’s Dogma 2: How to Unlock Mystic Spearhand Vocation Early

Dragon’s Dogma 2 offers various types of Vocations among which players can switch freely from pretty early in the game. However, all the early vocations in the game are regular and there are Advanced and Hybrid Vocations that players have to unlock by themselves. One of the most powerful hybrid vocations that players can unlock fairly early in the game is Mystic Spearhand.

Mystic Spearhand is considered to be one of the best if not the best vocation in the game as it has several powerful offensive and defensive skills that players can use with a spear-like weapon. So, if you are interested in unlocking this vocation for your adventure then keep on reading this guide as we have mentioned all the necessary steps you need to complete to get it.

How to Unlock Mystic Spearhand Vocation Early

Unlocking the Mystic Spearhand vocation will require you to complete the Readveant of Calamity quest and speak with Mystic Spearhand Vocation Maister named “Sigurd” to ask him about his manner of fighting. To quickly pursue the requirements for unlocking this vocation, you can follow the mentioned steps.

Reach Venworth and Complete at least one quest for Brant

You will get to reach Venworth pretty early in the game by following the main quest line. Once you have reached the capital of Vermund, you need to find Brant at the Tavern. Speak with Brant and he will give you three quests. Choose any quest to complete and then turn in the quest after completing it by speaking with Brant.

Reach Melve via Oxcart

After completing a quest, you need to head to the Oxcart location in Venworth. You can reach it by going out of the tavern, heading down the stairs, and turning right around the corner. Wait at the oxcart until an NPC approaches you and tells you that the Oxcart is heading to Melve. Accept to take a ride to Melve.

Complete Readveant of Calamity Quest

You will be able to reach Melve without any problem and once you reach Melve, there should be a dragon attacking the settlement. It will start the Readveant of Calamity quest and you need to fight off the dragon along with all the NPCs.

Once you have done enough damage to the dragon, it will flee away. Now, for all the NPCs that have taken part in the fight, there will be a certain NPC with a Mystic Spearhand vocation equipped. You need to speak with that NPC and select the “Ask about his manner of fighting” option to learn about the vocation and it will unlock the vocation at the Vocation Guild stores.

Acquire the Mystic Spearhand Vocation

For the final step, all you have to do is go to any Vocation Guild store and speak with the owner to change your vocation. Here, you will see the Mystic Spearhand vocation available for 200 DCP. Accept to acquire the vocation and you will get all the required equipment for the Mystic Spearhand vocation.

Additional Step

If somehow you miss the dragon event at Melve, you can find Sigurd at Harve Village. It is located west of Venworth which you can reach by following the road south of Trevo Mine.

Once you are at Harve Village, you need to go to the end of Harve Village to find Coastal Hut. Here you will be able to find Sigurd and you need to speak with him and ask him about his fighting manner to unlock the Mystic Spearhand at the vocation guild.
