Farming Simulator 22: This is how you get rich with pigs

Farming Simulator 22 pigs scatter straw and produce manure

Pigs are a lucrative, albeit busy, source of income. These should not be missing on your farm because you can produce natural fertilizer this way.

STABLES

First and foremost is the choice of accommodation for your new animals:

  • Pasture: This is suitable for breeding pigs. You can accommodate 30 animals.
  • Barn: If you want to produce manure and slurry, you use this barn. It can accommodate 108 animals.
  • Large barn: If you run a large farm, this barn is ideal for 270 pigs.

Depending on what you decided when buying your accommodation, you are now faced with the problem of supply. The pasture is the most expensive. Here you have to provide water in addition to the feed so that the pigs are doing well. Up to 3,000 liters fit into the trough. 9,500 liters of space is provided for feed.

If you have chosen the stable, there is a silo that can store 34 m³ of feed. Since straw is required for manure production, you can sprinkle up to 15 m³ of it. The manure storage tank is no longer unlimited in Farming Simulator 22 – 51,300 liters still fit in.

The largest stall gives you the most time to get supplies. There are 85 m³ of feed in the silo, 45 m³ of straw in the barn, and 128,250 liters of liquid manure in the tank.

BUYING ANIMALS

Pigs can be bought from the local cattle dealer as usual. You should bring your own cattle truck with you. Otherwise, the dealer charges a small fee of 50 € for delivery per pig to your farm. You can make the following choices:

  • German precious pig, age 0 months, € 200
  • German precious pig, age 6 months, € 416
  • Colorful Bentheim pig, age 0 months, € 200
  • Colorful Bentheim pig, age 6 months, € 416
  • Berkshire, age 0 months, € 200
  • Berkshire, age 0 months, € 416

CARE

As mentioned above, the animals must also be properly cared for. You have to maintain a proper mixing ratio in order to be able to deliver a strong feed. Pigs eat almost everything in Farming Simulator 22: wheat, barley, soybeans, rape, sunflowers, maize, sorghum, potatoes, or sugar beets. In order to achieve 100% productivity, you need a balanced diet, which looks like this:

  • Corn or sorghum: 50% effectiveness
  • Wheat or barley: 25% effectiveness
  • Soybeans or rapeseed or sunflower: 20% effectiveness
  • Potatoes or sugar beets: 5% effectiveness

If your farm does not yet grow all the fruits it needs, the local dealer offers an alternative: 1,000 liters of ready-made pig feed for 1,000 euros.

USE

You can either sell pigs at the cattle dealer after they have reproduced, or you can spread their manure and slurry on fields. This allows you to benefit from increased yields for the next harvest. In order for manure to be produced at all, you have to provide the pigs with straw. In addition, a manure heap must be bought in Farming Simulator 22, which is built near the barn. The heap has a capacity of up to 4 million liters of manure.

In addition, liquid gold – slurry – can be produced. The storage capacities are given above. But you can also take some cash to expand the size. You have a 500,000-liter tank or a slurry tank with 2.6 million liters at your disposal. These can be found under the “Silo extensions” building tab.

If you don’t want to use liquid manure or manure for your own fields, you can sell both at the biogas plant.

REPRODUCTION

The mentioned increase in pigs takes place every six months. Ie every 6 months you get a new pig. This grows up for three months. You will then receive a new animal every 4 months. Therefore, make sure that there is always enough space in the barn. Reproduction occurs as soon as health is above 0%. So always take good care of your animals. The older an animal is, the more money it makes when it is sold. So the oldest animals should be sold so that the young animals can grow and bring in more money.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
