Jagged Alliance 3 – How to Craft Ammo & Explosives

Before starting a mission, players must look at their inventory to see if they have enough ammunition and explosives for the mission because they are going to be used in combat and you don’t want to get run out of ammunition or explosives during combat. Players can buy ammunition and explosives from the vendors in the big cities or they can also find some ammunition from the dead bodies of the enemies but an efficient way of getting ammunition and explosives is to craft them.

How to Craft Ammo & Explosives in Jagged Alliance 3

To craft Ammo & Explosives, players must have a crafter in their squad. The crafter in Jagged Alliance 3 is an Explosive Expert so, if the players have a mercenary with a high stat of Explosives, they would be able to use that mercenary as a crafter both for Ammo and Explosives. The cheapest Explosive Expert that players can get early in the game is Barry. Makes sure to hire him otherwise, players will not be able to craft the Ammo or Explosives on their own. The next requirement for crafting Ammo & Explosives is Materials/Resources. Ammo would require Parts along with Gun Powder and other materials whereas Explosives would require Parts along with TNT and other materials. Parts are one of the crucial materials in the game so, make sure to pick them up during the missions.

Players would also have to liberate a larger area to unlock the crafting operation. To do that, players can liberate a big city or a village. If mercenaries are in a smaller area, they will not be able to perform certain operations such as Militia Training and Crafting. So, players must at least liberate a village and move mercenaries to the village to have access to Crafting Operation.  To craft Ammo & Explosives, follow the following steps.

• Press the M to open the Strategic Map Screen.
• Open the Operations tab. It is located beside the progression bar at the bottom of the screen.
• Scroll down to see the Craft Ammo and Craft Explosives operations.
• Select any one of them and players will get to select the Crafter.
• After selecting the Crafter, players will have to agree to pay $300 to the Crafter and it will take players to the next menu where they will be able to select the Ammunition or Explosives they want to craft.
• Select the ones for which you have the resources and add them to Queued Items to start crafting them.
• Once the required time is over, the crafted ammo or explosives will be sent to the inventory.

These steps are the same for both Ammo and Explosives crafting. However, the crafter will charge $300 individually for Ammo and Explosives so, it can be an expensive method early in the game.
