Jagged Alliance 3 – How to Hire Smiley

Smiley is one of the characters and free Mercs that players can choose to hire in their Squad for free. Smiley is an All-Rounder Merc and a bit hectic to recruit. Not in terms of he is disobedient but the series of quests that players will have to do just to recruit him.

How to Hire Smiley in Jagged Alliance 3

There is a series of quests that players will have to complete before they get to hire Smiley in their squad. To start with the quests, players first need to go to the Pantagruel Slums area which is in Sector D7. Players need to talk to an NPC named Maman Liliane to learn that Smiley’s love, Mollie has disappeared. Smiley will not be in the town as he has gone looking for her love. Now, players need to go to Rimville which is in Sector I9.

By reaching there, players will get to start a quest for Boss Blaubert in which they have to free Luigi from the Prison known as The Good Place. After freeing Luigi, instead of going to Boss Blaubert, go to Fleatown in Sector H9 and find the Priest. Talk to the priest to learn that he has hidden Smiley somewhere. Another quest will start in which players will have to take care of the enemies and find Smiley. Once Smiley is free, he will ask to help him with Boss Blaubert to get back his Love and then he will join the squad for free.

Now, players need to go to Rimville where Boss Blaubert and Smiley will argue. Boss Blaubert will threaten Smiley and players will get a choice of choosing the side. To hire Smiley, it is essential to side with Smiley and take out the enemies in the parameter along with Boss Blaubert. However, choosing this choice will not let players get the Best Melee Weapon in the game. Once players have defeated the enemies and Boss Blaubert, they will be able to hire Smiley by talking to him and selecting the “Come with us” option.
