Mortal Kombat 1: How to Unlock the Second Fatality of the Characters
The Fatality is an iconic feature of the Mortal Kombat series that needs no introduction. It is what makes the game more unique to other fighting games as it allows players to be more ruthless to the opponents at the end of the match. Like every Mortal Kombat game, Mortal Kombat 1 also has Fatalities for all of the characters and there are 2 Fatalities for each character in Mortal Kombat 1. However, players will start with only 1 fatality from the start and are required to unlock the 2nd fatality to use it.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how to unlock the second fatality of the characters in Mortal Kombat 1.
How to Unlock the Second Fatality of the Characters in Mortal Kombat 1
The second fatality for each character in Mortal Kombat 1 is locked behind the character’s Mastery Rank. In Mortal Kombat 1, every character has a progression system through which players can level up their favorite characters to unlock new items for them including Fatality and several Brutalities. To unlock the second fatality of your favorite character or any playable character in general, you will have to level up the Mastery Rank of that character by partaking in the following activities.
- Invasions (Test Your Might and Kombat Towers)
- Online Matches
- Kombat League Matches (Ranked Matches)
You need to participate in the activities to gain XP for your selected character and if you win Kombat League Matches, you will gain a high amount of XP which will level up the Mastery Rank of your character quickly. Each character’s Mastery Rank can be leveled up to Rank 35 and you can unlock the second fatality for every character by reaching 13 – 16 Mastery Rank depending on at which rank it unlocks the fatality reward.
It is not easy to unlock the second fatality move set for your favorite character but it has been reported that you can use the second fatality move without even unlocking it. You just have to know the second fatality’s move set to execute the second fatality at the “Finish Him/Her” screen of the match.
