Palia: How to Romance with Hodari

Everyone’s Favorite Blacksmith, Hodari is now officially a romanceable character in Palia. This change has been added in the latest patch 0.170 and players will be able to get closer to Hodari than just being friends with him. However, there are some requirements before players start increasing their romance level with Hodari.

In this guide, we’ll tell you all the requirements that you need to fulfill to start romancing with Hodari in Palia.

How to Romance with Hodari in Palia

The key requirement to begin a romance with Hodari is increasing your Friendship Level with Hodari, like any other romanceable character in Palia. You will have to first increase your Friendship Level to Level 3 with Hodari to unlock the Romance option with Hodari by gifting him either a Chocolate Box or a Heartdrop Lily flower. Chocolate Box can be bought from Zeki’s General Store for 200 Gold and Heartdrop Lily flowers can be foraged from the mountains area in Bahari Bay.

However, apart from just being friends with Hodari, you also need to be friends with Najuma, Hodari’s daughter. Before you give the gift to Hodari, increase the Friendship Level with Najuma to Level 4 and complete her friendship quest ‘Survivor’s Guilt’. After completing Najuma’s final friendship quest, there is one last requirement and that is completing the ‘Echoes of the Unknown’ main quest.

At this point, you would already have completed the quest as it is one of the early quests in the game but if you haven’t then it is also one of the must requirements to romance with Hodari. Once all of the requirements have been fulfilled, give a gift to Hodari to unlock the Romance option and start the ‘Something New’ quest. Complete the quest line to get Hodari’s Pin and reach Romance Level 1 with Hodari.

To further increase your Romance Level with Hodari, you need to engage in conversation with Hodari every Palian Day and gift a Chocolate Box or Heartdrop Lily flower once per real-life week each. No other gifts will impact the romance meter so, make sure to get the gifts for Hodari every week to greatly increase the romance level.
