Here is an overview of the game revealed by the officials:

Are you looking to add an extra dimension to your adventures? Are you ready for your fun to be multiplied by ten? Well, a special invitation has arrived to a colorful and handmade world. Princess Peach welcomes Mario and Luigi to attend the kingdom’s origami festival when the Paper Mario: The Origami King game launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch family of consoles on July 17.

However, there is a slight downside to the holidays: Princess Peach seems a bit strange. For more information on his mysterious behavior, you can watch the video below. It seems that King Olly, who claims to be the ruler of the Origami Kingdom, has hatched a devious idea that endangers everything that Mario appreciates. It seems quite dangerous, so it takes someone who is above the rest to save them all.

“Paper Mario: The Origami King offers a great new adventure on Nintendo Switch for gamers to have fun with,” said Nick Chavez, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Nintendo of America. “This game marks the debut of the Paper Mario series on the Nintendo Switch, expanding the vast library of games with another featured installment in a beloved franchise.”

Mario faces one of his most exciting challenges yet in Paper Mario: The Origami King when the dangerous King Olly unleashes his plan to crush the entire world. Just when things couldn’t get worse, he tied Princess Peach’s Castle in giant colored streamers and transported it to a distant mountain. He even transforms Bowser’s minions into soldiers and enlists them in his treacherous cause.

Fortunately, Mario is equipped with a range of new tools at his disposal to help secure victory. One of Mario’s new abilities, called 1000-Fold Arms, allows you to interact with the landscape by stretching and pulling and revealing new locations, helping you solve puzzles and discover unexpected surprises. Along the way, you’ll enlist the help of classic and new characters, such as King Olly’s kind sister Olivia, along with a number of unlikely allies, including Bowser himself! If you haven’t yet bowed to the whims of King Olly’s origami will, Mario will accept any help he can find with open arms!

Paper Mario: The Origami King also introduces a new ring-based battle system that lets you flex your puzzle-solving skills to align scattered enemies and maximize damage. While enemies may be made of paper, these dynamic turn-based battles are far from minor. A sharp mind will be required to do adequate work.

With a world rich in detail to explore, wacky mini-game events, and countless mysteries waiting to be solved, Mario’s upcoming adventure on Nintendo Switch is set to offer lots of crafts and laughter.
