Persona 5 Tactica: How to Upgrade Skills

Persona 5 Tactica - Upgrade Skills

Upgrading the Skills of the characters is crucial for increasing the potential of their Persona and other useful Skills. The Persona skills are usually used during combat at a cost of SP and the skill tree of each character offers various types of skills that can be experimented with comprehensively.

In this guide, we’ll go over how to upgrade skills in Persona 5 Tactica.

How to Upgrade Skills in Persona 5 Tactica

The skills of the characters can be upgraded at the hideout where players will get to reach after completing every chapter. A hideout is a safe place where players will get to prep before starting the next chapter, change characters, change Personas for characters, and much more along with upgrading their skills with GP (Growth Points). The Growth Points are earned by increasing the Phantom Thieves’ levels and engaging in conversations found in the Talk Menu. To upgrade the skills of the characters, follow the following steps.

  • Select the Prep Menu option once at the hideout.
  • Select the Skills options.
  • Use the buttons on the D-Pad to navigate through the skill tree, and press the L/R button to change the skill tree of the characters (currently in the party).
  • Press the A Button to spend GP to upgrade the skills. If you want to refund the skill, hover over the upgraded skill and press the A button again, spent GP will be refunded.

Each skill costs a certain number of GP and as you progress through the main story and complete missions of the hideout, you will gain GP more quickly which will allow you to upgrade skills often. Whenever you have enough GP for any character, an exclamation icon will be shown next to the available GP of the character in the character selection screen of the skills section in the Prep Menu.

It is recommended to check the skills section every time you come to Hideout after completing any mission or chapter to regularly upgrade the skills of your character.
