"Police should not appear right behind you": details of patch 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077

Patch 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to be released in February, but CD Projekt RED postponed its release until the second half of March after a hacker attack on the studio.

On March 19, the details of the 1.2 update were revealed on the official Cyberpunk 2077 website. Players on the same day reported that CDPR began sending out codes with a 20% discount on the game in GOG.

Update 1.2 should make Cyberpunk 2077, among others, the following changes:

  • The police will not appear behind the character’s back but will act more naturally – as if they were actually summoned to the scene of the crime. The police will also use a reconnaissance drone to assess the situation.
  • The game will improve driving: the frequency from 20 to 60 frames per second will not affect the speed of changing directions, a slider “Sensitivity of vehicle control” will appear in the settings menu, thanks to which it will be possible to reduce the speed of changing directions for all vehicles. Cars like the Archer Hella will have smoother handling.
  • By holding the accelerate button while the car is stationary, players will be able to rock the car, as well as turn it left and right.
  • Players will also be able to untie the double-press movement key evasion. To dodge, then you need to press the squat button twice (by default, this is C). Users will be able to reassign the actions associated with the WASD keys to other keys.
