Sonic Frontiers: How to Solve the Drain the Lake Water Puzzle

There are many different puzzles in Sonic Frontiers and each Island has one major story puzzle that you need to solve to progress further in the story. The second main puzzle is on the second Island that you’ll visit Ares Island and you need to solve the “Drain the Water to Continue” objective to progress ahead in the game.

Solving Drain the Lake Water Puzzle

As players will make their way to Ares Island and progress ahead, they’ll get to one of the main puzzles of the game named “Drain the Lake Water” in which you have to use the cannonball to break the chain to drain the water from the lake.

This puzzle is not tricky, you just have to use the cannonball and then aim at the chain to break it but some people will find it hard what to aim at and where to get the cannonball from. Worry not, we’ll tell you all of the things that you need to do to solve this puzzle.

In order to solve the Drain the Lake Water puzzle, follow the criteria: You need to go to Knucles’ location in the lake and you’ll see a cannonball near his location on the pedestal. You need to go around the canyon to be able to pick it up with your hands and move it. Now, cross to the other side with the bullet and go into the Grand Canyon. You will have to shoot the bullet by pointing in a certain direction. You need to point it towards the platform above the lake which is connected by a chain. If you look closely to the platform, you’ll see a target mark in the middle. Point it at the target and shoot the bullet to break the chain that is holding down the water in the lake.

Shoot the cannonball right at this target and you’ll break the chain to release the plug blocking the lake’s water. Now, you’ll be able to continue your adventures on Ares Island.
