Starfield: Traits

The Traits System is one of the interconnected systems of Character Creation that players will be introduced to at an early stage of the game. After creating the character and selecting the character’s background, players will be given the choice of picking up traits. Traits are mainly focused on the character’s qualities and relationships which makes them different from the active abilities of the character. However, traits have their own pros and cons that players must consider before picking them for their character.

In this guide, we’ll tell you which traits should you pick in Starfield.

Best Traits to Pick in Starfield

There are 17 different Traits in Starfield from which players can pick any 3 traits. However, picking up traits is not compulsory as players can finish creating their character after selecting a Background. As the Traits do offer some negative impacts on character, it is difficult to say that there are the best traits in Starfield. However, some traits have more advantages than other available traits.

  • Raised Enlightened or Raised Universal: These two are the only religious traits in Starfield and both of them will give you access to their chest filled with various items and valuables. However, both of them will prevent the character from getting access to the chest tied to the alternate religion. Despite the restriction, choosing anyone will give you access to valuables early in the game but if players don’t choose any one of these traits, they will not get access to the chest.
  • Extrovert: The Extrovert trait is one of the best traits for the main campaign of the game. It will allow players to use less amount of Oxygen while traveling with others but increase the use of Oxygen when traveling alone. Throughout the main adventure and questline, players will be traveling with other characters so, it is a great way to reduce Oxygen consumption.
  • Dream House: Selecting the Dream House trait can earn you a pre-owned luxurious house but it comes with a mortgage of 125,000 credit that has to be paid weekly. This trait does sound unworthy but if you compare the mortgage with the real price of the house which is 235,000 Credit, you will save a lot of money. Additionally, having this trait will give you access to your customizable house from the start of the game where you can store all of your loot and items.
  • Hero Worshipped: Hero Worshipped trait is another useful trait in Starfield that will allow players to meet with their Adoring Fan who is willing to join players’ crew and even give gifts on several occasions.

It is not necessary to choose all 3 traits, you can choose 1 or 2 traits or even none. There is also a freedom of removing the trait as well so, if you no longer want to equip a trait on your character, you can remove it.
