TOTK: How to Get Master Sword

Master Sword is one of the best weapons in the game with the ability of ranged attacks within the weapon. It is an iconic weapon in the Zelda universe that players will initially start the game with but with a broken one. However, players do find the fixed one later in the game by progressing in the main story but there are multiple ways through which players can get the Master Sword in Tears of the Kingdom.

If you are looking for a way to get your hands on the Master Sword then you are at the right place because we are going to tell you all of the different methods that you can follow to get the Master Sword in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

All Methods to Get Master Sword in Tears of the Kingdom

Master Sword can be obtained from multiple methods in Tears of the Kingdom but the location of the Master Sword stays the same for all of the methods. Players can actually get the Master Sword pretty early in the game if they choose to and obviously, if they know where to look for the Master Sword. From the point when players complete the tutorial of the game at the Great Sky Island and jump down to the Hyrule Kingdom, they would see a Light Dragon flying in the sky. Well, that Dragon is actually the location of the Master Sword and all methods will lead players to that dragon. Now, the methods that players can choose to get the Master Sword are the following.

  1. Complete all of the Geoglyphs, 11 in total.
  2. Talk to the Deku Tree in Korok Forest.
  3. Get to the Head of the Light Dragon.

How to Get Master Sword in Tears of the Kingdom

While following the main story, players will have to find and complete all of the Geoglyphs in Hyrule World. These are the Dragon Tears spread across the Hyrule World and finding them will allow players to view the memory visions. Once players have found and viewed all of the memories, it will lure out the Light Dragon in the Akkala Region and players will be able to get to its head by using the Skyview Tower in the Ulri Mountain area.

Players can also choose to dive down into the depths underneath the Deku Tree in Korok Forest where they would have to win a boss battle. After defeating the boss, players will have to talk to the Deku Tree which will reveal and mark the location of the Master Sword on Purah Pad. The location will reveal the whereabouts of the Light Dragon and players will have to get to its head either by using the glider in the air or by making the Zonai devices.

Lastly, players can also choose to go to the Light Dragon without even starting any kind of quest. Players simply need to get to the Head of the Light Dragon where they would find the Master Sword lodged into its head. Taking out the sword from the dragon’s head will get you the Master Sword at any point in the game.

NOTE: For all of the methods, players must have 2 Bars of Stamina. Without the stamina, players will not be able to pull out the Sword from the Light Dragon’s Head.

In order to get 2 Bars of Stamina, players will have to get 5 Stamina Vessels which can be obtained by completing 20 Shrines. So, before players set their destination to Light Dragon, they must upgrade Link’s Stamina to get a guaranteed Master Sword.
