Victoria 3: Warfare – Naval Battles

When you got into a war with another country, the fronts will be created at the border of both countries for the land battle but there is also a Navy Battle that takes place in the warfare. The Naval Battle will mostly assist you in winning the Land Battles because you’ll be clearing the troops of the other country in the water.

In this guide, we’ll tell you about the Naval Battles in Victoria 3.

Naval Battles

Naval Battles can be a critical supporting element to a successful campaign even letting you win against stronger land armies due to your country’s superior ability to control the waves. Just like your army, your navy is wielded by giving your admirals orders. The orders are the following.

  • Escort Convoys
  • Patrol Coast
  • Raid Convoys
  • Naval Invasion

Escort Convoys order allows your assigned navy to protect a supply route. Patrol Coast order sends your admiral to a coastline to protect it from other fleets. Raid Convoys order tells your fleet to destroy enemy supply lines by raiding their convoys. Naval Invasion order sends your army off to an enemy coastline which initiates a naval landing. If the landing is successful, it will open up a new front line on the enemy shores.

Victoria 3: Warfare – Naval Battles

If one fleet intercepts another performing a mission, a naval battle is initiated which essentially works the same way that land battles do. Each side chooses an admiral, rounds up the nearby fleets, and each side gains a random battle condition. Afterward, the fight progresses until one side’s morale reaches 0. The side that loses has to return to a friendly coast for repairs and can lose a number of ships.

Unlike land battles which will take enemy territory, naval battles won’t gain you any new land but will disable a fleet for the time being which will allow your admirals to carry out their orders unimpeded. When the land battle ends, the naval battle also ends and if you have won the land battle, you’ll take enemy territory in the land battle and your fleet will return to the coast but if you have lost the land battle, you’ll lose the lands that enemy country troops advanced in and most of your ships will also be lost in the Naval Battle.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
