DREDGE – How to Catch Grey Eel Fish

Grey Eel Fish is one of the species that you can find early on in the game and it is also one of the main pursuits that you will have to complete in order to progress in the game. It is the Pursuit for the Fishmonger NPC and you will get this Pursuit after you have unlocked Fishmonger and Shipwright shops. Fishmonger will ask you to get a special order of fish for someone which will also contain Grey Eel.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to catch Grey Eel Fish in DREDGE.

Equipment Required for Grey Eel

The Grey Eel Fish is one of the Shallow Water fish and you will have to get a Shallow Rod in order to catch the Grey Eel Fish. The Shallow Rod is specifically designed for Shallow Water Fish and once you have obtained the Rod, you will be able to catch the fish in shallow water. Now, in order to get the Shallow Rod, you will have to visit the “Shipwright” shop. The owner of the shop will have two Shallow Rods in her shop, Weighted Line and Simple Skimmer.

Both of these rods are for Shallow Water Fish but they both have their unique use as well. Weighted Line can be used to catch larger and deeper fish in Shallow Water whereas, the Simple Skimmer can be used to catch fish in Shallow Water but it does not have a deeper range. The Weighted Line will cost $150 and Simple Skimmer will cost you $75. At the beginning of the game, you can work with the Simple Skimmer and it will be enough to catch the Grey Eel.

Catching Grey Eel

Once you have obtained the Shallow Rod from Shipwright, undock your boat from Greater Marrow town and go out of the town. As you are out of the Greater Marrow, turn left and you will see the long fish swimming in the water. It is very near to the town so it is best that you go out in the daytime. Once you see the fish, go on the bubbles and press the X Button to start fishing.

Fishing in Shallow Waters is a bit different, you will not see the full circle with the Shallow Rod. It has two different bars and both of the bars will have points where you will have to pull the fish by pressing the X Button. You need to keep pressing the Pull button when the line reaches the pull bar until the fish is successfully caught.
