Diablo IV’s Season 2 Will Have A Reworked Elemental Resistance System
There have certainly been some major mishaps in Diablo IV and those mishaps are not being fixed by the developers. Every day there is a new take on developers about a major gameplay change or a bug in general. However, one of the main mechanics that has been in the game since its release is Elemental Resistance and it is completely useless. The elemental resistance does not work accordingly to how it should and it was first noticed by a streamer named Kripparian.
As he explained why is it useless and players started testing it out for themselves, they take another rant on developers for giving them a useless resistance system. However, the leading director of the game development team of Diablo IV, Adam Fletcher stated that Season 2 of Diablo IV will have a Reworked Elemental Resistance System while answering back one of the users.

It has been over 2 months since the release of the game and the players are constantly finding issues for developers to fix. The Elemental Resistance is a core system of combat itself and players would have to wait for its rework which would be released with Season 2 of Diablo IV. Until then players would have to stick with the broken and useless Elemental Resistance System.
The Head of the Diablo franchise also mentioned another system to add named Loot Filter which would assist players to manage their loot efficiently. However, the official addition of this system is unknown and it would probably be added in future patches of the game.
The Season of Malignant will end on October 17, 2023, and the release of the 2nd season would be right after it and it would probably be the time when players will get to test the reworked Elemental Resistance System of Diablo IV.
