Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon – How to Defeat AH12: HC Helicopter (Boss Fight)

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is a new mecha-based vehicular combat game from FromSoftware. Instead of fighting regular enemies, FromSoftware has built a world in which players will get to defeat mechs and giant mech bosses. The very first boss that players will have to defeat is AH12: HC Helicopter which players will encounter at the end of the first mission, Illegal Entry. As the name suggests, it is a big gunship helicopter with a couple of flying maneuvers and a lot of firepower.

How to Defeat AH12: HC Helicopter

AH12: HC Helicopter is a big mech that has a couple of moves in its possession that players need to be aware of. As the Helicopter would be flying throughout the whole flight, it has flying maneuvers where it would reposition itself to attack players or go out of bounds. Remember, neither you nor your attacks cannot go out of bounds as you are restricted to the play area but the helicopter can and it can easily cheese you by staying out of bounds. However, to overcome this, take cover behind the broken buildings and try to get under it when it is in the play area. If you stay under the Helicopter, it would not be able to lock the target on you for which it would have to reposition.

While staying under the Helicopter, keep shooting at it, and use the Assault Boost to get near the Helicopter, and use the Melee Attacks by pressing the L2 Button. Melee Attacks deal the most damage to the Helicopter whereas, the shooting and missiles will only increase its stagger bar. When it repositioned itself, use your Quick Boost to dodge the barrage of rockets and fly up to the Helicopter to use Melee Attacks again.

Make sure to use the Charged Melee Attack as it allows you to swing two times. Press and hold the L2 Button to do a charged melee attack. After attacking it a couple of times, it would stagger the helicopter and at this stage, every damage that you deal to the helicopter will be multiplied by 2.5x. So, keep shooting the missiles and when your stamina bar is charged, fly up to the helicopter to use a melee attack to deal the maximum amount of damage.

By repeating this method 3 – 4 times, you will surely defeat the Helicopter with no sweat. The only time you will feel stuck at this boss is when it goes out of bounds because your gun and missiles will not do any damage to it. So, move around and reposition yourself to make the helicopter change its position, and then you can use the strategy to defeat it.
