windrose best strength build

Windrose is a survival crafting game with a deep combat system that tests your skills and strategies. Players can choose to build a character that specializes in using heavy melee weapons, fast and sweeping weapons, or ranged weapons. Additionally, players can go for status effects of fire damage, bleed, and critical hit to further strengthen the build. One of the best builds that you can come up with in Windrose is a Strength Crit, allowing you to deal a ton of critical damage with heavy weapons. The Strength build is best for using melee weapons only, so you can clear out enemies with hard-hitting strikes. Combining Strength and Mastery can help you go for a Strength Crit build to deal devastating damage. In this guide, we will tell you everything about the Strength Crit build in Windrose.

What is the Best Strength Crit Build in Windrose

Strength and Mastery are two of the six main stats in Windrose. The Strength stat scales the damage for heavy weapons (two-handed weapons), allowing you to deal more damage with each strike. Mastery does not scale damage for specific weapons, but increases critical hit chances for all weapons. It does not matter if the weapons have Strength scaling; Mastery will still apply the critical hit chances.

Now, for this build to actually work, you need points in Strength and Mastery to scale the damage. Moreover, utilizing the perks of weapons, armor pieces, jewelry items, and food items to gain any additional Strength and Mastery points. With high Strength and Mastery, you will have a high chance of landing a critical hit. As you will be doing extensive damage, you can easily work around multiple enemies without any grave threat. However, there is no potential ranged weapon to use with this build, but you can make use of the Drake’s Double-Barreled Pistol to imply vulnerability for more potential damage.

ProsCons
High damage output (Melee)No Potential Ranged Weapon Usage
High Critical Hit chancesOverall Low Stamina
Best for Single-Target ClearingOverall Low Health

Stats and Talents for Strength Crit Build

The stats and talents are pretty straightforward for the best Strength Crit build in Windrose. You need to accumulate most points into the “Strength” stat to have the best damage scaling, and then rest into Mastery for critical hit chances. Alternatively, I will recommend that you spend at least 5 stat points into Endurance to enhance the maximum Stamina. This will allow you to strike more hits and get out of a threat without a sweat.

For the Talents, I would recommend spending points on the following.

  • Bonecrusher (Level 3): Increases Crude Damage by 9%.
  • Massive (Level 3): Increases two-handed weapon Damage by 10%.
  • Executioner’s Aim (Level 3): Increases Critical Hit Chance with two-handed melee weapons by 12%.
  • Dominating Presence (Level 3): When an enemy dies within 8m, you gain 18% Melee Damage bonus for 60s.

These talents will increase the potential damage of the two-handed melee weapon, allowing you to deal more base damage with a chance of a critical hit.

Weapons for Best Strength Crit Build

The two main weapons that we will be using for the Strength Crit Build are Sturdy Halberd (Melee) and Drake’s Double-Barreled Pistol (Range). The melee weapon has Strength scaling and offers the best perks that make this entire build possible. Despite Drake’s Double-Barreled Pistol being a precision-scale weapon, you will only be using it to imply the vulnerability of enemies.

  • Sturdy Halberd
    • Increases Critical Hit Chance by 10%.
    • Base Damage of this item is 15 points higher.
  • Drake’s Double-Barreled Pistol
    • Can fire two quick shots in succession.
    • Shots apply Vulnerability effect to the target. All Damage dealt to affected targets is increased by 15%.

The Sturdy Halberd is a strong weapon, due to the extra 10% critical hit chance when you attack. You want to go in for a combo to get at least 1 or 2 critical hits for the most damage. However, you do have to be quick on your feet to dodge the incoming attacks. Mainly, you will be eliminating low-level enemies in a single strike, but when you are against multiple high-level enemies, you have to be careful of the surroundings. The best method to deal with a group of enemies with this build is to use Drake’s Double-Barreled Pistol to hit two enemies. This will imply vulnerability on them, allowing your weapon to deal 15% more damage.

Armor Set and Jewelry for Best Strength Crit Build

The armor set that I recommend for this precision build is the Privateer’s Regalia. It is a Rare armor set that you can get from the Provisioner of the Brethren of the Coast faction. The main reason why this armor set is good is due to the increased Critical Hit Chance and damage, both ideal for a Strength Crit build.

  • Privateer’s Regalia (Armor Set) includes five pieces, including Boots, Gloves, Pants, Tricorne, and Doublet. Acquiring the pieces will give you the following effects.
    • 2-piece:Increases Critical Hit Chance by 10%.
    • 4-piece: Increases Critical Damage by 10% for each nearby enemy, up to 30%.

For the Jewelry items, I recommend the Jaguar Ring and Necklace of Strength. The Jaguar Ring increases the critical hit chance further, and the Necklace of Strength increases the maximum Strength stat for more base damage.

Food Items for Best Strength Crit Build

Lastly, you do need to bring some food items with you, especially the ones that provide additional Strength. There are numerous food items, but you should go with the Epic food items for the most Strength buff. To be exact, you need to make plenty of Meaty Croc Kebab. It increases the maximum health for 30 minutes and gives +20 Strength.

In addition to this food item, I also recommend using the Coffee, mainly for the +20 Endurance buff. Alternatively, you can use the Seafood Platter for a +20 Vitality buff. Moreover, you can also use the Elixir of Concentration for an additional 30% Critical Damage to deal even more damage with a successful critical hit.

Playing Video Games is the very first hobby that I partake in and it became my favorite hobby. Played Unreal Tournament 2004 as my first game which made me a fan of FPS Games. Story and Adventure Games are still my Cup of Tea to go with as they give more detailing to the described worlds and characters.
