Valheim: How to Farm Bloodgold
Discover how to farm the Bloodgold, a new material that is essential to crafting the higher tier weapons and armor pieces in Valheim.
Bloodgold is one of the new essential materials in Valheim 1.0. It is among the primary materials required to unlock the higher tier of weapons and armor pieces. Although Bloodgold is a new metal, acquiring it takes a lot of effort and resources. From the point players reach the Deep North, they must set up a base with essential workstations to work on getting Bloodgold. This will allow players to advance to the next tier of weapons, armor, and endgame crafting progression. In this guide, we will explain how to farm Bloodgold in Valheim.
How to Farm Bloodgold in Valheim
Bloodgold in itself is a refined material that you get by smelting Petrified Tissue in a Blast Furnace. The main resource that you need to load up on is Petrified Tissue.
Gather Petrified Tissue

You get Petrified Tissue by blowing up Petrified Gammeltrolls. The Petrified Gammeltrolls are dead or frozen, and the only way to break their body is to get Petrified Tissue is to use Ember Charges. Gammeltrolls are giant trolls and pretty hard to miss.

However, before taking on a living Gammeltroll, there are numerous frozen Petrified Gammeltrolls all over the Deep North biome. To start getting the Petrified Tissue, start by blowing up the Petrified Gammeltrolls covered in snow. Take a couple of stacks of Ember Charges and search for the buried Petrified Gammeltrolls. Throw the Ember Charges on the body to break it and collect the Petrified Tissue. You can easily get a couple of stacks of Petrified Tissue by blowing up buried Petrified Gammeltrolls.

If you want to take on a living Gammeltroll, you must challenge them fully prepared. Make sure to get a powerful staff weapon and cast spells from a distance to damage them. They strike pretty hard, so movement and stamina management play a crucial role in surviving the encounter. As you defeat a Gammeltroll, it will turn into a Petrified Gammeltroll, allowing you to place Ember Charges on its body to get the Petrified Tissue.
Smelt the Petrified Tissue to Get Bloodgold

After getting yourself some Petrified Tissue, smelt it to turn it into Bloodgold. Head over to a Blast Furnace and add Petrified Tissue and Coal to it. Now, wait for around 30 seconds, and you will get Bloodgold.
Stacking up Bloodgold will require a lot of resources like Ember Charges, so it can be a bit of a grind at the start. Make sure to store Bloodgold, as you are going to use it to craft the next-tier weapons and armor pieces, and they are not cheap.
