According to the Japanese retailers, New Horizons has set the record of the fastest-selling game in Japan.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released worldwide last Friday. It means the game sold 1,880,626 physical copies in just 3 days in Japan. You probably know that Pokemon Sword/shield sold 1.36 million copies in its first week in Japan. So Nintendo’s new game has outsold Pokemon Sword/shield.
Furthermore, The Japanese retailers claim that in the last three days Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite sales increased. Around 392,576 units sold between March 16 and 22; for a total of 12,801,222 Nintendo Switch sold in Japan. It must be noted that Nintendo released the Switch Lite Coral on March 20. According to the retailers in Japan, the Switch Lite coral was out of stock in just 3 days.
