Blasphemous 2 has one of the most in-depth combat mechanics that rely on various systems. As players progress through the game, they will be introduced to a system called the Altarpiece of Favours. The Altarpiece of Favours system allows players to equip several altarpieces, which increase respective stats and the outcome of abilities. This is one of the ways to increase the overall potential of the character to deal more damage and resist more damage.
How to Increase Altarpiece Slots in Blasphemous 2
The Altarpiece Slots can be increased by talking to Montañes and using Marks of Martyrdom. Montañes is located inside the first building in the City of the Blessed Name area. You can talk to Montañes by pressing the up arrow key to view his services. Selecting the “Increase Altarpiece Capacity” option will allow you to spend a certain number of Marks of Martyrdom to increase Altarpiece Slots.
There are 8 slots in total, in which you can place different statues of your choice to gain certain effects. In the beginning, you will start with 2 slots, and the very first statue, The Traitor, will be given to you by Montañes when you talk to him for the first time. You can equip the statue by talking to Montañes and selecting the “Open Altarpiece of Favours” option. From there, you need to select the empty slot and then select the unlocked statue to place it in the slot.
By increasing the slots, you will be able to equip more statues that you will find in your journey to gain certain effects and boost your stats. However, every slot has a certain price that you will have to pay with Marks of Martyrdom. As you already start with 2 slots, you will unlock the slots from 3 to 8.
- The 3rd slot will cost 1 Mark of Martyrdom.
- The 4th slot will cost 2 Marks of Martyrdom.
- The 5th slot will cost 3 Marks of Martyrdom.
- The 6th slot will cost 4 Marks of Martyrdom.
- The 7th slot will cost 5 Marks of Martyrdom.
- The 8th and final slot will cost 10 Marks of Martyrdom.
Make sure to visit Montañes every now and then after finding the statues in your playthrough to equip them in the Altarpiece Slots to gain effects.
