Botany Manor: Chapter 1 – A Fresh Start Walkthrough

Botany Manor is a new puzzle-solving video game set in an English Manor where you get to play as a Botanist named Arabella Greene. Arabella Greene is trying to finish her botanical research book for which players will get to explore the English Manor and gather clues on how to grow rare plants throughout the course of the gameplay.

The journey is divided into five chapters and this guide will help you walk through the beginning chapter, A Fresh Start of Botany Manor.

Chapter 1: A Fresh Start – Walkthrough

The initial chapter of Botany Manor requires you to grow a rare flower named Windmill Wort to filter the smoggy air in the conservatory and reach the manor. Growing the rare plant will include finding the relevant clues and then using the information from these clues.

Gathering Clues

We have listed down all the major steps that you need to follow to gather all the clues.

  • As you begin the journey in the conservatory, walk over to the door, and just before entering the Greenhouse, pick up the Letter and the Book from the table on the left side.
  • Enter the Greenhouse and walk over to the blackboard on the right side to view the Wildflower Poster and the Temperature Chart.
  • Now, go to the opposite side of the blackboard and interact with the Newspaper and the Postcard.

Growing Windmill Wort Flower

These are all the clues that you need, now, follow the following steps to grow the Windmill Wort.

  • Go over to the panting desk and pick up the Windmill Wort seed.
  • Add Soil to the Pot.
  • Grab the Windmill Wort seed from the seed inventory and plant it in the soil.
  • Interact with the watering can to water the planted seed.
  • Now, pick up the pot, take it over to the Heat Vent, and place it on the saucer.
  • Go over to the boiler beside the planting desk and set it to 60c.
  • Now, return to the heat vent and turn it on to watch the Windmill Wort grow and smog disappear.

Heading to Botany Manor

After growing the Windmill Wort, you will be able to leave the Greenhouse. Open the door ahead and take a walk along the garden’s pathway until you reach the main path to the Manor. However, the gate to the manor will be locked and it will require a key.

To get the key, go back on the main path to reach the Gatehouse and the key will be placed in the basket on the right. Pick up the key and then go back to the manor gate to open it. Head inside the manor’s entrance and open the door to conclude the first chapter and initiate the second chapter, Survivors of Adversity.
