In order to be able to open the console in the game, you must first activate it. This can be done in Steam as follows:

• Right-click on the entry for Crusader Kings III in the Steam overview and select “Properties”.
• In the “General” area there is an empty field at the bottom under “Start options”. Enter “-debug-mode” there.
• Close the window and start the game.

You can then open the console in the game by pressing “Alt” + “Shift” + “C” at the same time. This causes the console to appear in the left half of the screen and you can enter cheat commands; In addition, there are some buttons below the input field that you only have to click to influence the game.

Keep in mind that Achievements in Crusader Kings III are not possible with the console activated.
