Farming Simulator 22: Killer Whale

The following page explains what plowing is for – work done with a plow. You will learn when you have to do it, what tools you can use, whether periodic plowing is required, and which plants require plowing all the time.

What is killer whale?

Plowing is the first thing you need to do in a new field. You can do it right after harvest. This is a process required before planting root crops, for cereals, it is sufficient to cultivate. You perform plowing with a plow, subsoilers or tillers.

To use the plow when standing in front of an empty field after harvesting:

• Unfold the plow,
• Lower the plow.

When to plow?

Plowing is one of the hardest jobs in FS22. You need a powerful tractor for this job; however, since plowing is not always required per harvest, you do not need to invest in it first. To work with a plow, you almost always need weight on the front of the tractor.

• Root crops: corn, sunflower, sugar beet, and sugar cane do not require plowing, but doing it before planting increases the yield by 15%.
• Plow, subsoiler, or tiller are used for plowing.
• The plow can also be used to destroy plants in the field.
• Plowing prevents/slows the growth and appearance of weeds. However, only deep plowing – a shallow subsoiler will not help here.
• Using a plow causes stones to be pulled onto the soil surface.
• The plow is also used to create new fields after activating the appropriate function.

After harvesting, and before using the plow, when stubble remains in the field, it is a good idea to use a mulcher to dispose of it first - it will increase the next yield by 5%.

The game’s default settings take into account the periodic plowing of the land – i.e. even if you are sowing grain and cultivating the field after harvesting, you will have to use a plow every few harvests to avoid reducing the amount of harvest from the field. You will see information about the necessity of plowing on the map (marked in red ) and by standing in front of the field.

Subsoilers

Subsoilers are devices that penetrate the ground shallower, but their work is sufficient and in-play equivalent to the use of a plow. So you can use them instead of the plow to do the periodic plowing much faster. In addition, to some models of subsoilers, you can attach a seeder or fertilizer spreader at once to perform two jobs at the same time.

Many employees are not very good at using vehicle combinations, such as a subsoiler + seeder / planter.
