How to Fast Travel in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom offers a very Large World Map that players can explore. Not only the world offers ground exploration but it offers the depths and islands in the sky that players can explore. The map consists of a number of islands that players will get to visit throughout the game and each of the islands has its own cavern areas and sky islands. There is too much to explore in Zelda so, Zelda has done some favor by putting in the Fast Travel mechanic for the players so that they can fast travel throughout the map without spending too much time on the roads.

How to Fast Travel in Tears of the Kingdom

Fast Traveling in Tears of the Kingdom is very easy as it only requires you to select the unlocked location on your Purah Pad to travel. As you visit different Shrines, Skyview Tower, and different villages throughout the game, you will unlock a Blue Gate at those locations. These Blue Gates are the Fast Travel Locations that you can choose to fast travel. You can follow the following steps to fast travel in Tears of the Kingdom.

• Press the “-” Button to open the Map.
• Select the Blue Gate on the Map and Press the A Button.
• Select the “Travel” option to fast-travel to the selected Blue Gate.
• After the loading screen, you will get to the selected location.

How to Unlock Fast Travel in Tears of the Kingdom

Players will not be able to Fast Travel right from the start of the game, they will have to make progress in the main quest named “The Closed Door” to open the Gate of the Temple of Time. You will have to complete three different Shrine Puzzles in order to open the Gate of Temple of Time. Once you have solved Ukouh Shrine, In-Isa Shrine, and Guntabac Shrine Puzzles, you will unlock the Temple of Time gate and Rauru will give you the ability to Fast Travel to the Known locations on the world map.

After that, you will be able to fast travel freely. As you explore more of the world map, you will unlock various fast travel points. Visit the Skyview Towers to unlock more fast travel points and you can also upgrade the Purah Pad to get the Travel Medallion Upgrade that will allow you to place a medallion anywhere in the world.
