How to Get Hylian Shield Early in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

One of the strongest items of equipment that players can find pretty early in the game is Hylian Shield. Hylian Shield belongs to the Hyrulean Royal Family and it has the highest defensive capabilities and durability than all the other Shields out there in the Hyrule World. You can obtain it as soon as you get to the Hyrule Kingdom and claim yourself a Paraglider.

Hylian Shield Location in Tears of the Kingdom

The Hylian Shield can be found in the Docks area of the Hyrule Castle. Hyrule Castle is right next to the Lookout Landing area. The Lookout Landing is the very first area that you will visit when you return to the Surface. You need to go in the North direction from the town to reach the Castle.

However, the entrance to the Docks is on the West side of the Castle so, you will have to use a Paraglider to get there easily and quickly.

How to Get Hylian Shield Early in Tears of the Kingdom

Once you have activated the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower, you will unlock the Paraglider that you can use to get to the Docks of the Hyrule Castle. You need to use the launcher of Lookout Landing Skyview Tower to get up in the sky and then glide towards the Hyrule Castle. You need to glide towards the west side of the Hyrule Castle and go along the water on the side of the castle. Keep an eye on your stamina meter as well because you don’t want to fall from the air while gliding.

You can let go of the glide when your stamina is low and open it again once near the surface. You need to land on the area on the side of the castle and go along the path until you reach an open area under the castle. It will be the docks area. Now, jump and open the Glider again to go into the water. There are a number of platforms that you can get on to refill your stamina.

You need to go straight from where you enter the docks. You will have to swim to the wall and once you get up on the wall, go to its right side. Now, continue climbing and you can rest on the flag under the spider web. After resting, continue climbing to get on top of the area. Now, you will see a Fire Pit in front that you have to light. Use a Fire Arrow to light up the Fire Pit and a chest will appear.

Loot the chest to get yourself a Hylian Shield. You can use this shield for a longer period of time but eventually, it will also break. So, it is unsure at the moment whether you can get it back or buy it again from a vendor.
