How to make your Pokémon walk with you in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

The Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are very faithful, but they have a very adorable new feature: to have your Pokémon follow you around the world.

The fourth generation of Pokémon, Pearl, and Diamond, released on the Nintendo DS in 2006, will receive a very faithful remake for the Nintendo Switch, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, and Shining Pearl.

Its development will be the same as in the DS games (including the same Pokédex, apparently ), with a “chibi” facelift that is as if they “cleaned” the original sprites.

However, there will be some novelties, including a super adorable one, extending one of the functions of the original: making the Pokémon follow you everywhere.

That the Pokémon follow you out of the Pokéball, stretching their legs, was already in the Nintendo DS games, in a location called Amity Square that was confirmed in the latest trailer of the Switch remake. However, in DS we could only walk with the Pokémon inside the square.

That has changed in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, where Pokémon can follow us around the world. However, this function is not available from the beginning, and you will have to unlock it by arriving at Amity Square and talking to the person at the reception.

If the other functions of the Friendship Square are maintained in the DS games, walking with the Pokémon inside the Friendship Square will also allow us to get some objects that the Pokémon finds (after taking 200 steps) and improve the friendship with the Pokémon, which can help them evolve.

In addition, we can prepare pokochos with the help of the Pokémon in a fun minigame.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl go on sale on November 19, 2021, on Nintendo Switch.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
