Jagged Alliance 3 – How to Send Mercs to Scout the Area

The Legion, an enemy force has taken control of the Grand Chien nation and players will have to hire mercenaries to take down the Legion. Players will have to make strategies according to the areas held under control by the Legion. For every area, players will have to make unique strategies due to the number of enemies or traps laid out by enemies in the surrounding area. To know more about the area which players want to liberate next, it is important to first gather information about that area and it is possible by sending Mercs to Scout the areas.

How to Send Mercs to Scout the Area in Jagged Alliance 3

Before players get to send the mercs to scout the areas ahead, players will have to liberate the previous areas. Areas are liberated by taking out enemies of Legion in the area and before moving to another area, players get the option to do certain operations. One of the operations is to Scout the Area which gathers information regarding the areas held under the control of the Legion. To send the merc to Scout the Area, follow the following steps.

• Press the M to open the Strategic Map Screen.
• Open the Operations tab. It is located beside the progression bar at the bottom of the screen.
• Select the Scout Area operation.
• Select the Merc you want to send to scout the area ahead. Two Mercs can be sent to Scout the Area at a time and if the Mercs have a High Wisdom Stat, it will reduce the time taken by Mercs to scout the area.
• After selecting the Mercs, select the Start option to start the operation.

Once the required time has passed, the Mercs will return back with useful information regarding the areas ahead. When players go toward those areas, they can use the Overview to highlight all possible routes, chests, traps, and much more in the area to make a perfect strategy to take down the Legion.
