Jagged Alliance 3 – How to Disarm Landmines

Jagged Alliance 3 is a Tactical Role-Playing Game in which players will have to take down an enemy force known as Legion. Players will hire several mercenaries all with certain roles who will help clear out the enemies in the areas by creating unique strategies. However, the Legion also have their parameters secured and can take the mercenaries off-guard if not careful. One of the traps laid out by Legion is Minefield where players have to be careful.

How to Disarm Mines in Jagged Alliance 3

All the major Outposts and Strongholds of Legion will have a Minefield Trap from which mercenaries have to cross without getting blown up. To cross the Minefield without tripping any landmine, players must have an Explosive Expert in their Squad. The Explosive Experts have the ability not to only throw the perfect grenades but also eligible to disarm mines or any explosive trap on the field. They also have a keen eye to spot any explosive traps on the field which is why it is important to keep the Explosive Expert ahead from the rest of the squad.

Players can locate the Minefield by using the Overview before deploying into the Area. Press the O Button (by default) to use the Overview Mode which layout any weak point, alternate route, and Minefield. Knowing where the Minefield is can be useful because players can either take an alternate route or order an Explosive Expert in the squad to lead and disarm the landmines while going through the minefield. To disarm the Landmine, players need to select the Explosive Expert and then select the Disarm Landmine option.

It is important to select the Explosive Expert every time before disarming the Landmine because the game will suggest the closest merc to disarm the landmine. If the merc does not have a high Explosives Stat, they will fail in disarming the Landmine which will result in tripping the Landmine and blowing it off. So, make sure to double-check that you have selected the required merc for the job and it is not only with the mines but with any other available option. Always select the required merc before executing anything on the field.
