Amnesia: The Bunker: How to Get the Cutters

The Cutters is one of the key tool items in the game that you will be needing in the late game to solve the puzzles. Having the Cutters will also allow you to cut the bolts that are keeping the doors or drawers locked in the bunker, making you access new areas and find more items.

Cutters Location in Amnesia: The Bunker

The Cutters can be found in the Prison Area of the Bunker which can only be accessed by using the Emergency Lockdown Wheel. You will be able to do it pretty early in the game and once you have done that, you will open the sublevels of the Bunker. Go through the opened door on the right side from the Emergency Lockdown and you will reach the Prison where you will hear a German Prisoner Screaming. Go to the German Prisoner Cell and you will see the Cutters on a stool. The Prison Cell is not destroyable nor breakable so, you will have to find another way to open it.

How to Get the Cutters in Amnesia: The Bunker

If you look through the small window of the Control Room in the Prison Area, you will see some buttons that can be used to open the closed cell doors. The main door of the Control Room will be locked but if you go to the other side by breaking the wooden door, you will find a grating that you can get through by using the Wrench. If you have not obtained the Wrench yet then you will not be able to get the Cutters so, make sure that you get yourself a Wrench so, you can open up the gratings and pass through them.

After opening the grating, go inside the Control Room and you will see the Cell Door Controls. You need to press the 2nd Right (from the top) Button to unlock the Prisoner’s Cell and wait for a moment until the Monster kills him. Once the monster is gone, go to the cell and get the Cutters.

Now, you will be able to cut the bolts that have been keeping you away from progressing in the game.
