Amnesia: The Bunker: How to Get the Wrench

Getting all the required tools in the early game is necessary because they all will be used in the late puzzles of the game. So, in order to save you time by finding them at the last moment, you need to get them as soon as you reach the Administration Room. One of the tools that you will be needing in the game is Wrench. The Wrench is used to open a special type of screw and you will be opening it at different locations in the Bunker to solve the Puzzles.

Wrench Location in Amnesia: The Bunker

The Wrench is located inside one of the lockers in the Mission Storage Room. Like all of the rest of the tools and items that you will be needing for your playthrough, you will have to get the Wrench from the Mission Storage Room. The Wrench can be found inside a locker with the name Stafford and you will be able to see the wrench outside of the locker but in order to get it, you will have to enter a four-digit code.

You can get the code by finding Foreman Stafford’s Dog Tag in the Bunker. Now, all of the lockers’ codes in Amnesia: The Bunker are randomized so, it is no use in providing the code because ultimately, you will have to find the right code for your playthrough. However, the process of finding the code is similar so, you can follow our guide to find the Dog Tag of Stafford and get the code for the locker.

Where to Find Stafford’s Dog Tag in Amnesia: The Bunker

Stafford’s Dog Tag can be found on his body which is inside the Pillbox. In order to get the Pillbox, you will have to go through the Maintenance Area which can be accessed via Officer’s Quarters. The Officer Quarters is on the left side while coming from the Administration Room. You need to head down the hallway of Officer’s Quarters and then turn right at the end to reach the Maintenance area. Once you have reached the Maintenance area, you will see the Clerk’s Office from which you can get the map of the Maintenance Area. Look at the map to get an idea of where you need to go and then go ahead on the path.

You need to enter the Workshop which can be reached by following the path ahead and when you reach the Workshop, you will see a Tunnel in it that you have to cross. Now, the tunnel will be filled with Rats so, you will have to find a way to get rid of them. You can do that either by throwing a slice of meat on the side so the Rats come to the meat or you can use the lighter to light up the Torch to push away the Rats.

Once on the other side of the tunnel, go to the left side and you will find the Pillbox door. The door will be locked and you can get inside in two different ways. You can get inside by breaking the wooden door on the left side of the Pillbox and then breaking the planks on the wall to get inside the Pillbox. This method is risky because you will have to use Grenade or Brick if you find any to break the planks which can make a lot of noise and attract the monster. The other way is to get the Key for the Pillbox. The Pillbox key is found inside the Chapel which is not far from the Pillbox.

Go back to the main Maintenance area and when you reach a wide area, you need to look for the route that says Chapel. Go inside the Chapel and you need to open the confession room to get the Pillbox Key. The confession room will be on the right side when you enter the Chapel. Open the door and get the key from inside the confession room and now, you just have to go back to Pillbox. Equip the Key and use it on the door to unlock it and go up the ladder. As you go up, you will see the body of Stafford and you will get the Dog Tag from his body. Rotate the Dog Tag to get the code of his locker.

Get a Wrench from Stafford’s Locker

After getting Stafford’s Dog Tag from Pillbox, make your way back to the Mission Storage Room and find Stafford’s Locker to enter the four-digit code and retrieve the Wrench from his locker. After getting the wrench, you will be able to remove the grating and access the locked rooms around the Bunker.
