Diablo IV: Answers in the Ashes – Quest Walkthrough

Answers in the Ashes is the fourth main Seasonal Quest that players will get to complete after finishing Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 of the Seasonal Journey, which is essentially the third Seasonal Quest, Holding Back the Flood. In Answers in the Ashes, players will learn about the main boss of Season of Malignant, Varshan The Consumed, and have their first encounter with him.

Answers in the Ashes – Walkthrough

Investigate Cormond’s Wagon

The quest begins with Cormond not being near his Wagon. Players need to go outside of Orbei to investigate Cormond’s Wagon. Upon reaching the Wagon, several Malignant Monsters will attack, which players have to defeat. After defeating the monsters, go to the Wagon and interact with Cormond’s Note beside the Stash.

Meet Cormond at the Orbei Monastery

Cormond is outside of Orbei Monastery, and players need to go there to find out what he had found. Open the map to locate the Orbei Monastery and then travel there. Talk to Cormond and then enter the Crypts of Orbei.

Bring Cormond to Sealed Door

The Crypts of Orbei are filled with skeletons and vampires that players will have to eliminate while traveling to the Northeast end of the crypt. Players need to protect Cormond and bring him safely to the Sealed Door so he can open it. While Cormond is opening the door, a couple of waves of enemies will try to stop him. Defeat the waves of enemies and then follow Cormond to enter the Monastery to find the Records Room.

Search the Records Room and Defeat Varshan The Consumed

Upon reaching the Records Room, Cormond will ask to look for the record of Cages of Binding. Interact with the records on the left side of the Records Room to find the record of Cages of Binding. Talk to Cormond, and after the conversation, Varshan The Consumed will enter the Records Room. Now, players will have to defeat Varshan The Consumed.

Once players have defeated Varshan, they need to teleport out of the Monastery and talk to Cormond three times to complete the quest.
