God of War Ragnarok: Steinbjorn Armor – Guide

God of War Ragnarok has various Armor Sets in the game that can be gathered by crafting them with the resources gathered from the Nine Realms or by completing main story missions or Side Quests. Armor Sets have different stats and every set has its own preferred stat as well. One of the best Defense Armor Set that you can get in the game is Steinbjorn Armor which will make you stand strong while facing the toughest enemies.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how you can get the Steinbjorn Armor and all its upgrades in God of War Ragnarok.

How to Get Steinbjorn Armor

Steinbjorn Armor can only be crafted with Slumber Stones and you need to get 4 Slumber Stones in total to craft the Armor Set. Slumber Stones are dropped by an enemy type named Troll. Trolls are big stone enemies and there are only four of them in Nine Realms. You can find them by using the Mystical Heirloom that can be found in the Midgard on the Southwest side of Tyr’s Temple. Once you have Draupnir, you’ll be able to get the Mystical Heirloom and defeat all of the Trolls to get Slumber Stones.

Draupnir will be used to open the Gold Cracks in the walls and stones to unlock a hidden path or an area. When you have got the Mystical Heirloom, you need to use it in front of the Troll enemy to wake him up and defeat him to get the Slumber Stone. The locations of all four Troll Enemies are given below.

Blodgur Steinn (1st Troll) Location

The 1st Troll location is in Midgard and it is close to the location where you found the Mystical Heirloom. You need to go in the Southwest direction on the frozen lake to reach the Derelict Outpost. Defeat the Troll to get Slumber Stone from its body.

Bjarg Stormr (2nd Troll) Location

The 2nd Troll location is in Alfhiem in the Forbidden Sands area. Defeat the Troll enemy and grab Slumber Stone from its body.

Golrab of the Ashes & Golrab of the Frost (3rd & 4th Troll) Location

The next two trolls can be found in the same location and their location is in Vanaheim. You can find them in Noatun’s Garden. Defeat both of the Trolls and gather Slumber Stones from their bodies.

Craft Steinbjorn Armor Set

After getting all 4 Slumber Stones, you need to head to Blacksmith’s shop and interact with him. You need to go into the Craft tab and you’ll see the Steinbjorn Armor Set in the list. Hold the Square button to craft the Steinbjorn Armor on all Armor gears. Armor chest will cost 2 Slumber Stones, Armor Wrist, and Armor Waist will cost 1 Slumber Stone each.

Upgrades for Steinbjorn Armor Set

You’ll be able to craft Steinbjorn Armor set once you’ve got through the main story mission named “Forging Destiny” but for the upgrades, you’ll be needing special resources that you won’t be able to get until the end of the game. All the upgrades required for Steinbjorn Armor Set to fully upgrade are the following.

• 19x Asgardian Ingots
• 120x Purified Crystalline
• 10x Sparkling Crystals
• 5x Tempered Remnants
• 2x Smouldering Embers
• 190K Hacksilver

Getting all the Materials

Most of the materials will be found in the end-game so you’ll have to progress through the game. What can you do is go to The Crater in Vanaheim and look for the Ember Crystals which are orange glowing crystals on the ground. Use the Draupnir to break the Crystals to get materials that you’ll be needed for later. Find and Break the Crystals to get materials as many as you can and then you need to head into the Sinkholes area which is on the east side of the map.

You need to head into the Sinkholes with all the crystals that you have gathered and then make your way to the Wishing Well. You’ll have to face enemies as well so go prepared. When you reach the Wishing Well, you need to throw the crystals inside the well to receive a new Armor Set along with most of the resources that we need for upgrades of the Steinbjorn Armor Set. You’ll get the following materials from the wishing Well after throwing in the crystals.

• Asgardian Crystals
• Purified Crystalline
• Sparkling Crystals

Now for the Tempered Remnants, all you have to do is defeat the Berserker enemies. Each Berserker enemy will drop this material and you can fight Berserker at the Berserker Graves around the map. For the last material which is the Smouldering Embers, you need to complete the Muspelheim Trials in the Muspelheim Realm. You need to complete a total of 9 trails in total to get the required amount of Smouldering Embers.

Once you’ve obtained all of the materials, you’ll be able to fully upgrade the Steinbjorn Armor Set at the Blacksmith’s Shop.
