Jurassic World Evolution 2: This is how the megalodon moves into your park
Would you like to have the gigantic megalodon in your park in Jurassic World Evolution 2? The imposing water dinosaur should mutate into the greatest attraction and completely cast its spell on your visitors. In this guide you will learn:
- What the megalodon is
- How to get the water dinosaur
What is a megalodon?
The megalodon is a species of shark that has long been extinct and probably lived around 3.6 or 2.6 million years ago. The water dinosaur, which belongs to the Otodontidae family, was at least 15 meters long and weighed a good 25 tons.
The megalodon was at home in all waters, but apparently, its favorite oceans were warmer. What it really looked like in the past is controversial: some describe it as a gigantic great white shark, others suspect that it was more similar to a whale shark.
How do I get the Megalodon in Jurassic World Evolution 2?
There are quite a few aquatic dinosaurs in Jurassic World Evolution 2. Namely:
- Mosasaurus
- Ichthyosaurus
- Attenborosaurus
- Tylosaurus
- Elasmosaurus
- Liopleurodon
- Plesiosaurus
As you can see, the megalodon is not listed. That’s because it doesn’t officially exist in Jurassic World Evolution 2 . Fortunately, there is a hard-working modding community that can help in this case.
You read that right: You can get the megalodon into your park with the help of a mod. You only have to download the mod, install it and the water dinosaur swims around in your water basin. The mod ensures that your Mosasaurus turns into the megalodon.
This is how you install the mod
First of all in advance: You can currently only use mods for the PC version of the game! You can find the mod called LAStudios Megalodon on the Nexus Mods platform. As the name suggests, the modders from LA Studios developed the additional content. According to the website, the mod can be used without any problems and is virus-free, which is also supported by positive user comments.
But, as always, the same applies here: caution is advised! Nonetheless, it’s content that doesn’t come from Frontier itself. You install mods at your own risk and it can never be ruled out that there may be errors in the game. In any case, make a backup of your current save status.
Installation via Steam
First download the file from the site. It is a .zip file, which you then unpack and ideally park on the desktop. Now open your Windows Explorer, go to the Steam folder and follow this path: Steam> steamapps> common> Jurassic World Evolution 2> win64> ovldata
Now drag the folder from your desktop into this directory. Then start the game, go into sandbox mode and you should now find the megalodon among your dinosaurs.
