Skull and Bones: How to Get A New Ship

Skull and Bones - Get a New Ship

Starting your journey of becoming a ferocious pirate in Skull and Bones will start you off with a small ship that is highly vulnerable, especially against the bigger ships. One of the essential steps to becoming a better pirate in the waters is to get a bigger and better ship which will allow you to fairly engage with enemy ships.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to get a new ship in Skull and Bones.

How to Get A New Ship in Skull and Bones

Getting a new ship in Skull and Bones will require players to reach a certain infamy, get the blueprint for a ship, and bring it to Shipwright in the Saint-Anne region to craft it with the required materials. The infamy is basically the character level that players will get to increase by progressing through the main campaign. Upon reaching a certain infamy level for the ship you wish to get, the next thing you need to get is the blueprint.

Similar to other tools and weapons in the game for which you need to get the blueprints before crafting them, the same procedure goes for crafting a new ship. The blueprints for the ship are hard to come by and most of them are held by various NPCs from whom you have to purchase them. Lastly, you need to get the required materials and silver for the Shipwright to craft the ship for you. After that, you will be able to change the ship from the docks before setting sail.

As there are several ships in Skull and Bones that players can get, the first ship that players will get is not long into the playthrough of the game. Once players have reached the Saint-Anne region from the West Island, they will meet Shipwright for which they will get to complete a contract ‘Tools for Trade’ in which they have to collect Acacia and deliver it to Shipwright.

Completing the first contract will unlock the ‘A Seaworthy Ship’ contract in which players will be able to craft their new ship ‘Bedar (The Rammer)’. Interact with the Shipwright and select the ‘Craft new items’ option to craft the Bedar with the following materials.

Along with these materials, the Shipwright will charge 360 Silver for building the ship. Upon accepting to craft the shift, a brief cutscene will play out and players will unlock their first ship which they will be able to equip right away or at the docks while selecting the Embark option.
