Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two gives minimal hints about GTA VI on next-gen consoles

Take-Two’s CEO talks about the possibilities of the new generation consoles and what they have published for both so far.

With the new addition of next-gen consoles to the gaming market, despite the fact that they are suffering greatly from stockpiling due to the coronavirus pandemic. Many people already have some next-gen consoles. Now, the question regarding this issue has surely already jumped into the minds of many, will GTA VI ever come? When will that day be?

At the moment we are not sure as GTA V will even be launched on these consoles, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. In a statement to UBS Global TMT, they said: “Each console cycle seems to have different themes and narratives. How are you going to position yourselves in Take-Two to take advantage of something that partners in the hardware industry are going to put in the hands of customers?

To which Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two responded: “We are just trying to create the best entertainment anyone can do. We’ve already released two games on next-gen consoles, NBA 2K21 and Borderlands 3 and we’re very excited about what new technologies will allow us to do not only on these consoles but also on PCs which always track the same technical gains in anything that makes the experience better”.

However, Zelnick ended by saying, “So fewer load times, better graphics and memory and everything enhanced also potentially enhances the consumer experience and a better consumer experience will obviously cause people to consume more of it”.

Does this mean that they know about the possibilities and the audience of the new consoles, so we can prepare for a GTA VI announcement?

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
