Following the launch of the action-RPG Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED has revised its employee rewards system.

Usually, the system of bonuses in CD Projekt RED was associated with the performance of the project being created, so the employees had extra motivation to give their best. In the case of Cyberpunk 2077, the ability to receive bonus payments also depended on the assessment of the game on review aggregators, but in light of the difficult launch, the company’s management decided to abandon this practice.

“Previously, we had a bonus system that depended on game ratings and adherence to the planned release date. But after careful analysis, we came to the conclusion that this approach is far from fair, especially given the current circumstances. We somewhat underestimated the scale and complexity of all processes that were necessary for [Cyberpunk 2077] to become a reality, but despite this, you have put all your energies into creating such an ambitious and special game, “explains Adam Badovsky, Cyberpunk 2077 Development Lead, in a corporate letter to CD Projekt RED employees.

To date, the Cyberpunk 2077 rating on the Metacritic platform is fixed at around 90 points. At the same time, despite the financial success of Cyberpunk, CD Projekt RED shares continue to fall.

I enjoy playing games, and gaming is a passion of mine. Among my favorite games are Tears of the Kingdom, GTA, and Cyberpunk.
