Cyberpunk 2077: update 1.3 and first free DLC unveiled, here are all the details

During today’s live of CD Projekt RED dedicated to Cyberpunk 2077, the news of the update 1.3 was presented, in addition to the free DLCs that will be made available as part of the update on PC, console, and Stadia. Let’s see the details in order.

First of all, let’s see the details on Cyberpunk 2077’s free DLCs :

  • Johnny Silverhand Alternate Appearance – Can be activated from the “Additional Content” section of the settings.
  • Synthetic Leather Multi-Layer Air Trafficker Jacket, Luminescent Punk Jacket: Both available in the warehouse of V’s apartment after receiving a message from Viktor following the completion of The Car Ride. They are of rare / iconic default quality. It also unlocks the crafting instructions to create higher quality copies.
  • Archer Quartz “Bandit”: Available as a reward or for purchase (depending on the player’s choice) after completing Ghost Town and receiving a message from Dakota or Rogue. If you didn’t get the message, make sure you are in the Badlands area and walk away from the Dakota garage. Dakota will also need a couple of days to contact you.

Game improvements

Let’s see how the most important improvements introduced in Cyberpunk 2077, according to the official changelog:

  • Improved the zoom level of the minimap when driving, so that the magnification is lower and the map is easier to read.
  • Automatic Love – The screen with images of Skye and Angel is now shown considerably longer, making it easier to choose between the two.
  • Added a button that allows you to redistribute talent points on the character’s skill tree.
  • Increased the number of autosave slots from 10 to 20 and quick save slots from 3 to 10 on all platforms.
  • Added database links in journal entries.
  • Added central point superimposed to accessibility options to help prevent or reduce motion sickness. It can be activated from Settings → Interface → Point in the center of the screen.
  • Now fixers call V less often to offer vehicles for sale.
  • Improved the appearance of SSR on PlayStation 4 and on PCs with lower video configurations to make it less grainy.
  • Added a filter for mission items in the backpack.
  • The “Quest Item” tags of various quest items are now removed after completing their quests, allowing them to be sold or abandoned.
  • It is now possible to rotate V with the mouse in the inventory screen.
  • Now the player can successfully create a quick hack even if he created it once and then got rid of it.
  • Added description for cyberware comparison
  • Improved notification of cyberware purchase when the level needed to equip it is reached.
  • It is now possible to upgrade multiple crafting components at the same time.
  • Added new locations where Nibbles can sleep in V.
  • The waste container icon now turns red when the player lifts a body, rather than gray.
  • The mine icon is now grayed out after defusing.
  • It is now possible to use a lift while carrying a body.
  • Happy Together – Barry’s appearance has been updated to make him unique.
  • The basic items will be highlighted in green like the other components if they are present in the Inventory creating the same higher quality item.


As for the game balance, Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.3 offers the following news:

  • Enemy detection time now depends on the difficulty of the game. On Easy and Normal difficulty, enemies will now notice the player more slowly. Enemies on Very Hard difficulty, on the other hand, will notice the player more quickly.
  • Enemies on Very Hard difficulty (only and only at that difficulty level) will now be more aggressive when they search after entering the “Alert” state.
  • The NCPD no longer reacts by becoming hostile due to the presence of corpses in open world activities.
  • NCPD now also reacts if the player hits NPCs with non-lethal weapons.
  • Changed the process for determining damage when shooting NPCs in a crowd during a fight based on distance and weapon used.
  • (Don’t Fear) The Reaper – Improved Adam Smasher’s behavior during combat.
  • Play It Safe – Improved Oda’s behavior during combat.
  • Transmission – Improved Placide’s behavior during combat.
  • Transmission – Placide’s resistance to hacking has been increased.
  • Cyberpsychopath Sighting: Letter of the Law – Improved behavior of the cyberpsychopath during combat.
  • Every Breath You Take – Red Menace’s positioning and aiming improved.
  • Increased the stats of La Chingona Dorada (Jackie’s iconic pistols).
  • The Rescue – Ammo amount increased at the start of the mission.
  • Introduced minor fixes and balance changes for the Contagion quick hack.
  • Improved crafting system so that the quality of random quality items increases based on the player’s crafting ability. It is no longer possible to obtain a higher quality than that of its crafting ability.
  • The level needed for items now increases with each upgrade. Note: The level of upgraded items will change as a result of this change. Equipped items of a higher level than necessary can be used without problems, but it will no longer be possible to equip them after removing them from the equipment.
  • Added more build instructions for cyberware mods.
  • Added crafting instructions for knives (available from the beginning of the game).
  • Updated the number of components required to craft some items including Bounce, MaxDoc, Quick Hacks, Dress Mods, and certain weapons.
  • Balancing crafting instructions for dress mods.
  • Balancing the number of components needed to create the clothes.
  • Balancing the number of components needed to create the Sandevistan Shards.
  • Optical Camouflage cyberware is now available for purchase at Scalpels.
  • Fixed the price of the “Sensory Amplifier” cyberware mod.
  • Rare Unity crafting instructions can now only be obtained in the course of Alleged Criminal Activity: Tigers by the Tail.
  • Changed the price and quality of Kerry’s guitar that can be obtained in the Contract: Psicofan course.


Here are the corrections to the gameplay of update 1.3 of Cyberpunk 2077:

  • Fixed an issue where crafting instructions sold by clothing stores were only available on the first interaction with vendors.
  • Fixed an issue where it was impossible to use weapons and quick menu items after visiting the Nomads Camp.
  • Fixed an issue where hacking into a neutral target did not count towards achieving the Christmas Tree Attack achievement.
  • The required skill level tutorial window no longer appears when the “Unauthorized” message is displayed on devices.
  • After a quick trip, V no longer looks down.

Stability and performance

As for Cyberpunk 2077’s stability, update 1.3 should improve frame rate stability, resulting in fewer slowdowns and spikes, especially during combat. A streaming issue that was negatively affecting performance in the City district was then corrected. Blocks should also have been reduced, thanks to a series of fixes.


As for the interface, Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.3 introduces the following changes:

  • Delamain’s image no longer gets stuck on holocalls if V exits the car too quickly after completing Epistrophy: Badlands.
  • Item descriptions no longer disappear if the content is too long.
  • Fixed various typos in subtitles, shards, missions and weapon descriptions.
  • Added a text message after Epistrophy’s failure: North Oak following the abandonment of the Delamain taxi.
  • Restored the original name “MegaBuilding H10” of the fast travel point near V.’s apartment.
  • Removed from inventory some items marked “None” and without actual icons.
  • The mod menu displayed when hovering the cursor over an inventory item now displays the correct stats.
  • Fixed an issue where the male variants of the VR tutorial in the Brazilian version of the game were in Polish.
  • The black market battery mod description now correctly displays strings with item attributes.
  • Fixed an issue where the Contagion quick hack image was missing from the icon outside the inventory.
  • The status effect icon for the “Cold Blooded” talent now looks like a snowflake.
  • The double-layered PUNK tank top is now visible in inventory when equipped.
  • Added a hint during the loading screen informing the player of the settings to fast forward.
  • Corrected the Galena Gecko vehicle name next to the “Buy Vehicle” interactive text.
  • Nancy Hartley’s second message image in Holdin ‘On / Killing in the Nameviene now displays correctly.
  • Corrected the crafting skill advancement reward text related to the reduction of the upgrade cost.
  • The Mackinaw MTL1 image in the “Call Vehicle” menu now matches the vehicle model.
  • Removed debug strings from the description of the “The good, the bad and the ugly” talent.
  • Artifacts of grouped icons are no longer separated from their positions when you zoom in or out on the map.
  • When stamina runs out, the appropriate icon now appears next to the health bar, instead of the overload icon.
  • Now the description of the Villefort Alvarado V4F 570 Delegate correctly states that the car is rear-wheel drive.
  • The period of possible incidence in the description of the synaptic accelerator now shows a correct value when the game is in the Polish language.
  • The description of the fists in the weapon wheel now shows an appropriate item type.
  • Fixed shard text on Chiba-11 district.
  • Opening photo mode and a vendor’s menu in quick succession no longer causes the game to freeze.
  • A golden icon for Iconic Loot is now displayed on the map.
  • Fixed a case where hit markers and kill confirmations were not visible when destroying enemy turrets.
  • Fixed incorrectly colored enemy indicators on unsuspecting enemies – they are now yellow instead of red.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the correct display of the RAM regeneration rate below 0.50.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Unmount Object button from displaying correctly.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the buttons from functioning correctly when warning the mod.
  • Fixed suggested keys not working during protocol violations.
  • Removed redundant input hints in the Cyberdeck panel.

Graphics, Audio and Animations

Let’s see instead of the corrections to the graphics, audio, and animations of Cyberpunk 2077:

  • The reinforced rocker foldtop with composite padding now appears aligned with the legs of V.
  • Fixed an issue where the monocable could slightly dislocate male V’s arms and interpenetrate clothing.
  • Fixed an issue in The Heist where the Flathead briefcase could float out of the Konpeki Plaza hotel room, blocking the passage.
  • Fixed an issue where changing the music volume in the audio settings affected the vehicle radio in addition to the background music.
  • Fixed an issue where Takemura’s voice was doubled when talking to V in the van in Down on the Street.
  • Fixed an issue where some Netrunning Suits would interpenetrate female V’s legs and male V’s pants.
  • Fixed a run animation issue after performing a jump on an incline.
  • Fixed dust particles, sometimes displaying incorrectly.
  • Character skin no longer appears too bright in dark areas.
  • In The Information, Smasher’s shadow no longer appears on the elevator door after rewinding the braindance to the start.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Arasaka soldiers to appear in front of the player when they climb the stairs to rescue Takemura in Search and Destroy.

Environments and levels

Now it’s the turn of environments and levels:

  • Fixed various map holes in Watson, City, Westbrook, Heywood and Santo Domingo.
  • Fixed various incorrect routes for vehicles on the City ring road.
  • Fixed various locations where the player could get stuck permanently.
  • Fixed various errors in the disappearance of the game environment.
  • Fixed various errors where objects appear in front of the player.
  • In Piana Biotechnica, the GPS no longer takes the player to unreachable areas.


There are also multiple fixes to missions, cutscenes, and some generic fixes such as:

  • It is now possible to find a gift from Judy in V’s apartment after receiving the related text message following the completion of the side quests regarding the relationship with her.
  • Fixed some story inconsistencies in radio messages.
  • Fixed persistent blackout effect in Love Like Fire when the interface was set to some particular languages.

As for the fixes to the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077, here’s what has changed:

  • Fixed an issue where tutorial text was not displaying correctly on 8k screens.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the game to freeze if a save image became corrupted.
  • Fixed toggle between windowed and full screen modes using the Alt + Enter shortcut.
  • Now you can exit the locked scan overlay by pressing TAB.
  • Added a more compact version to the mouse pointer on PC.

Finally, here are the console-specific fixes :

  • Now the Internal Dead Zone setting is also applicable to menus.
  • [PlayStation] NPCs no longer speak after being killed.
  • Improved streaming of city lights.
  • Overwriting a save when the player does not have enough disk space no longer damages the save.
  • The masks and pipes in the barn in The Hunt are no longer invisible.
  • Rogue no longer penetrates Johnny and holds the glass correctly in Ghost Town.
  • Fixed an issue in Rescue where loading a save in front of the police checkpoint prevented the NCPD agent from initiating dialogue, blocking progress.
  • Fixed an issue on PS4 where the encounter scene with Judy and the dolls in Pisces would not start correctly.
  • [Xbox] Fixed an issue in A Cool Metal Fire where part of the scene in Cassius Ryder’s clinic could be cut off after fading.
  • Fixed an issue where weapons were being equipped in the wrong slot by assigning them from the backpack.
