Super Mario Bros. Wonder: What Are Flower Coins & What Are They Used For?

Super Mario Bros. Wonder has two new collectible items that players can collect in each course of every world: Flower Coins and Wonder Seeds. Flower Coins are hexagon-shaped purple coins that are spread across the course. They are a valuable collectible that not only increases the progression percentage but also serves as the primary currency in the game. Wonder Seeds are used to unlock locked courses in the world.

What Are Flower Coins in Super Mario Bros. Wonder?

Flower Coin is one of the new collectibles introduced in Super Mario Bros. Wonder that players get to collect alongside the regular coins in each course. There are three different variants of Flower Coins in Super Mario Bros. Wonder and collecting each variant provides a significant amount of Flower Coins.

• Flower Coin: Provides 1 Flower Coin.
• 10-Flower Coin: Provides 10 Flower Coins at once.
• Chunks of Flower Coin: Provides 0.1 Flower Coin.

Collecting each variant of Flower Coin will add the total number of Flower Coins to its counter located beside the counter of regular coins. Flower Coins and 10-Flower Coins are mostly found in the original course whereas the Chunks of Flower Coins are found when the Wonder Effect is active. You can activate the Wonder Effect by collecting the Wonder Flower located somewhere in the course.

What Are Flower Coins Used For in Super Mario Bros. Wonder?

The Flower Coin is a primary currency in Super Mario Bros. Wonder that can be used to purchase items from the Poplin Shop in every World. You can collect up to 999 Flower Coins at a time and use them to buy the following items from the Poplin Shop.

• 1-Up Mushrooms: Grants you an extra life.
• Badges: Grants you certain abilities.
• Standee Surprises: A collectible of modeled playable characters.
• Wonder Seeds: Allows you to unlock locked courses in the world.

Poplin Shops are not readily available and require progression through each world to a certain point to unlock the shop. All of the shops have the same category but different items so, make sure to visit every Poplin Shop and buy the items you find most useful, Badges and Wonder Seeds being one of the useful items.
