The new mechanics revolve around all of the new abilities that Link can learn in Tears of the Kingdom. One of the new Abilities that Link will be able to learn is Fuse. The fuse ability will let Link fuse different items and objects that can be found in the world with his weapons to increase their stats.

How Fuse Ability Works in Tears of the Kingdom

The Fuse Ability is a new ability of Link that can be used to combine various materials that can be found throughout the world of Hyrule with Link’s Weapons. Combining the Weapons with such materials will unlock special effects, increase weapon stats, and get utility tools to take down enemies in a more stylish way. You can also get Materials by scanning Amiibo. By scanning Amiibo, you will also get different types of items including new weapons, gear, and armor.

Now, all of the collected Fuse Materials will be stored in your Inventory. You need to open your inventory and select the item you want to fuse with one of your weapons to get a certain special effect. As an example, you can add a Mushroom to your Shield which will explode and create a Smoke on a collision. When an enemy tries to hit you and you block the attack, the mushroom will explode and create a smoke that will blind the enemy and give you an advantage.

There is a ton of materials that you can fuse on your weapons so, make sure to keep fusing your weapons to get certain effects because some of the effects might help you get out of a difficult situation or even help you solve a puzzle.
