God of War Ragnarok: How to Open the Third Door – (Journey to Nidavellir)

As Kratos and Atreus start their journey in the Aurvangar Wetlands, they’ll have to go to Nidavellir Village and on their way, they have to solve several puzzles. Nidavellir Village is at a distance so they have to go through the boat and open multiple doors to get to the Village. The first two doors will be easy to open but players will have to do more work on the third door to open it.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to unlock the third door as you are going toward Nidavellir in God of War Ragnarok.

Opening the Third Door

As Kratos and Atreus will be making their journey on the boat through Aurvangar Wetlands, they have to cross through three different doors. The first door is the wheel door that Kratos can rotate by going through the side. After crossing that, they’ll come to another closed door, for which they have to increase the pressure of the water to turn the wheel so the door will go down in the water. After that, they’ll reach the third and the last closed door that they have to open to get through and reach Nidavellir Village.

When you reach the third door, you’ll notice that there are two gates that are closed and you need to open both of the gates to cross them. First, you’ll be able to lower the first door and then the door ahead of it. You can follow the following steps to open the gates.

Lower the First Gate

• Go to the right side and dock on the ground.
• Now go ahead and you’ll see a giant anchor that is held by a plate.
• Equip the Leviathan Axe and throw it on the plate to drop the Anchor.
• Jump on the Anchor and go ahead towards the chain.
• Interact with the chain and you’ll be able to lower it.
• Pulling the chain will lower the first gate in the water.

Lower the Second Gate

• Look to the left side and jump across
• Go to the left side and freeze the water to jump across to the ground.
• There’ll be a creature there, kill the creature and go towards the capped geyser.
• Use the Blades of Chaos to open the capped geyser to release the water.
• Now freeze the water again that you froze first to cross, it’ll increase the pressure of the water.
• The increased pressure of water will rotate the wheel and the anchor will start to come down.
• Wait until it is all the way down and then you need to recall your Leviathan Axe.
• Ready the aim as the anchor will start going up again.
• You’ll see the plate that is holding the anchor.
• Throw the leviathan Axe on the plate to break it and release the anchor.
• Now, go up on the Anchor and aim for the water that you released from the geyser.
• Freeze the water by throwing the Leviathan Axe and the water pressure under the anchor will increase.
• You’ll go up and you’ll find an artifact and a Red Chest. Make sure to loot them.
• You’ll see the chain for the second gate.
• Interact with it to lower the second gate.

Now, return to the boat and go through the open door to Nidavellir.
