Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen: How to Get a Treat for Freki
During your early exploration and adventure in the Dark Arisen DLC of Dragon’s Dogma 2, you will get to meet a lot of NPCs. One of the NPCs that you will meet will be Ilsa, who has hounds. Speaking with her unlocks the “A Direwolf Delicacy” side quest. To complete this quest, you have to find a treat for the hounds, but it is not specified, which can be confusing. In this guide, we will explain how to get a treat for Freki in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen DLC.
How to Get a Treat for Freki in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen
When you accept the quest from Ilsa at the Norgandian Settlement in Norgan, you must find something suitable for Freki (hound). As the quest does not specify the treat, you can deliver meat to Ilsa, but it will not work. The correct treat for Freki is Snowdeer Bone.

NOTE: If you bring 3 random treats for Freki to Ilsa, she will direct you to Dorin, who will tell you to feed Snowdeer Bones to Freki.
There are two ways to get the Snowdeer Bone. The initial method is to hunt down the deer and loot them. The second method is to look for bone piles in the world. Although the initial method sounds easy, the drop rate of Snowdeer Bone is very low. Hunting the deer in Norgan usually drops Scrag of Beast.
Luckily, there is a deer spawn close to the river, north of the Norgandian Settlement. Try your luck on the deer in the area to get the Snowdeer Bone. Otherwise, look for the bone piles on the ground and gather them to get the Snowdeer Bone.

Once you have obtained the Snowdeer Bone, deliver it to Ilsa. After that, wait for 1 in-game day and return to Ilsa. This will complete the quest and reward you with the following.
- 20,000 XP
- 3x Beast-Steak
- Hound’s Scent Pouch
