Dead Island 2 – How to Unlock New Skills

Skills play an important role in the playstyle of your character in Dead Island 2. There are a number of different skills in Dead Island 2 that players will get to learn during the gameplay. Learning the new skills will allow you to do different maneuvers against the zombies that will help you gain more experience and level up your character more quickly.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to unlock Skills in Dead Island 2.

Unlocking Skills in Dead Island 2

The Skills of your character are unlocked by collecting the Skill Cards. The Skill Cards can be found around the maps of the game as well as you can obtain them by leveling up your character. Each time you level up your character, you will get a random Skill Card of one of the categories. There are four different categories of Skill Cards and you can select a number of Skill Cards in each of the categories to buff up your character in your desired way. The categories of the Skills are the following.

1. Abilities
2. Survivor
3. Slayer
4. Numen

The Abilities will show the active skills of your character and you can select up to 5 skills for your character. The Survivor, Slayer, and Numen will allow you to select the Skill Cards to buff up your character by selecting the skill cards. You can equip 4 Skill Cards in Survivor and Slayer categories, whereas you can equip 2 Skill Cards in the Numen category.

The Skill Cards can also be obtained from the Storage Boxes located in different areas on the maps. Some of the Storage Boxes will require a certain type of key which can be obtained by killing a specific zombie. So, you will have to look out for the zombies and grab the keys if you find any. Go to the Storage Boxes to open them and you can get Skill Cards as well as rare and epic weapons.

Your character also has a Rage Ability which is called “Autophage”. You will unlock this ability as you progress in the main story and once your rage meter is full, you will be able to go into zombie mode to take out the enemies more quickly. You can also enhance the Autophage Ability by selecting the Skill Cards with “Skull Icon” under them. You can equip up to 3 Skill Cards of this kind and it will enhance your Autophage ability.
