Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes – How to Defeat Nerthus

After completing the game’s opening mission to find the Pimal Lens at the Runebarrows, you will get to Eltisweiss where you will get the mission to retrieve more characters for your party as Seign and Hildi will go back to Arenside. To progress further, you will have to head to the Redthroat Ridge area to find Mellore who you can recruit after defeating a boss named Nerthus.

Nerthus is the third main boss in the game that you must defeat to progress ahead and similar to the Golem Pulverizer fight, this boss fight also has a Gimmick attack that you must utilize to defeat Nerthus. This guide will help you how to defeat Nerthus in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.

How to Defeat Nerthus in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Fill Up The Party First

Nerthus is probably the hardest and tankiest boss at this point and engaging him in a fight with a low number of characters will make it only more difficult. As you will start the quest with only three characters in your party, reaching Redthroat Ridge will add Mellore to make it a total of four. For the rest of the two characters, we advise you to recruit the following.

Both of these characters can be recruited before you make your way to the Redthroat Ridge. As you will not have a healer in your party, recruiting Francesca is essential.

Method to Defeat Nerthus

As Nerthus jumps up from the Sand, Mellore will raise two Magical Pretty Grimoires one on each side. These are the magical books that will be your Gimmick attack for the fight. The reason why they are on each side is because the pattern of Nerthus is to jump up through the sand either on the left side or the right side.

While you are choosing the attacks and moves for your characters, you will not see Nerthus, meaning you will be going with your guts either to select right or left gimmick attack. It appears to be the pattern of Nerthus jumping up in each round is random but for us, it was the following.

Choosing the correct gimmick attack for each turn will allow you to deal 150 damage on Nerthus and even Stun him a few times. It is a crucial part of the fight so, if your fight begins with the left side, you can follow the mentioned sides above to have a chance of catching Nerthus each time with 150 damage.

As you will be choosing the Gimmick attack for only one of the characters, for the rest of the characters, choose normal attacks and Rune Attacks to deal as much damage as you can in a single round.

Nerthus Attacks

Nerthus has a total of three attacks to his name which all deal a substantial amount of damage. Rock Slide is one of his earlier moves that target a single character and deal 13 damage. Another attack is Slash which targets a single character and deals up to 26 damage. You should consider healing the character that takes damage from this attack.

Almost halfway through the fight, a cutscene will begin and Nerthus will gain a buff and add another attack to his disposal. This attack is Earthquake and it targets all the characters dealing up to 25 damage. However, he will do this attack once after two or three turns so, you should heal all party members in the very next turn.

That is all related to Nerthus and his attacks so keep focus on healing your characters who need healing and using Rune Attacks for others along with choosing a left or right gimmick attack.
