Final Fantasy XVI Prologue (Demo) Walkthrough

Final Fantasy XVI Demo is available on PlayStation 5 for free. The Demo includes the Prologue Chapter of the game and for the players who have bought Final Fantasy 16, their Prologue progression will carry on to the full game which comes out on June 22, 2023, on PlayStation 5.

In this guide, we’ll be covering the Prologue Chapter of Final Fantasy XVI.

The Prologue starts with two Eikons fighting each other. Players will take control of Phoenix Eikon and attack the other Eikon of Fire by pressing the Triangle Button. Use the R1 Button to evade from opponent’s attacks. Go through the sequence to trigger the cutscene. Now, players will get control of the main character named “Clive Rosfield” of the game. Follow the fellow soldiers ahead to trigger another cutscene.

There will be a couple of cutscenes in between each gameplay. Simply follow along the path and eventually, players will get to play as a Younger Clive. This sequence will be a Training Session in which the game will tell all the basic and advanced things of the Battle System. Complete the Training Session with Mudroch, the Lord Commander to trigger the cutscene.

Sunrise, Sunset

After the cutscene, a new objective will be given to Clive and players will have to make their way to the Throne Room. Press the L3 Button to use the Animal Instinct to find the correct path to the main objective. Follow the path to reach The Down Gardens and then go ahead to the main door and interact with it. Open the heavy door by holding down the R2 Button and then head inside to trigger the cutscene.

After the cutscene, head up to the staircase on the right side of the throne room and follow the path to reach Clive’s Chambers. Go through the cutscenes and when the World Map opens on the Screen, however, the cursor over the Stillwind location on the map and hold down the X Button to travel to Stillwind.

Lost in a Fog

After reaching Stillwind, the game will give a brief introduction to Timely Accessories. These Accessories can make combat even easier. Players can equip any three Timely Accessories from the Gear & Eikon Tab in the menu. Go along the path and toward the fallen tree on the left side to go under it. There will be a number of Goblins ahead that players will have to defeat.

After defeating the Goblins, go under the broken gate and reach the Drowned Village. Take out more of the Goblins and climb up the tower by using the ladder. Go down to the other side to take out Goblins on the other side. Go along the path to reach the Old Village Square and the Leader of Goblins will call out more Goblins.

Take out the Goblins in the area and the Leader will call out a stronger enemy named Gigas who you will have to defeat.

After defeating Gigas, follow the Goblin Leader and another boss fight will start against Morbol and defeat him.

Flight of the Fledgling

After defeating the Morbol, the next sequence takes place on the Phoenix Gate. Players will get to play as Joshua. Follow the soldier and take out the enemies in the Castle by using the Fire Magic. Keep going ahead and soon players will shift back to Clive after the cutscene. Defeat the emperor’s enemies in the inner hall and then go outside to the open area to defeat the rest of the emperor’s enemies.

After defeating all the emperor’s enemies, players will get to defeat the Knight of the Blinding Dawn boss. Go along the cutscene and players will get to the very first sequence of the Prologue where they fought with Eikon of Fire as a Phoenix Eikon.

Defeat the Eikon of Fire again by attacking it with Fire Balls and evading his attack whenever he strikes. After winning the fight, go through the cutscenes and the Prologue will end.

After completing the Prologue, players will unlock the Eikonic Challenges Mode in which they will get to test the Eikon Abilities of other Eikons as well as use the Limit Break. Players can practice in the Eikonic Challenge Mode to get used to the abilities of available Eikons until the full game releases.

Final Fantasy XVI will be available on June 22, 2023, on PlayStation 5.
