Final Fantasy XVI: How to Defeat Gigas (Boss Fight)
Gigas is the first main boss of the game that players will get to fight in the Prologue Chapter of the game. He is a stronger enemy with a lot more HP than the normal Goblins so, players will have to face him with caution as they can deal high damage to Clive.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how to defeat Gigas in Final Fantasy XVI.
How to Defeat Gigas in Final Fantasy XVI
Players will get to engage Gigas at the Old Village Square in Stillwind location on the map. Gigas hold a heavy weapon that can deal hundreds of damage in a single hit. In order to defeat Gigas without much hassle, players would have to Stagger him by breaking his Will Gauge. Gigas has a Partial Stagger moment where he would get partially staggered at 50% of his Will Gauge. At this point, players would have to unleash all of the high-damage-dealing abilities on him to deal maximum damage. Gigas will not be able to act until he is partially staggered and using this moment as an advantage can make Gigas fully stagger.
By staggering him by breaking all of his Will Gauge, he will go down to the ground leaving him open to all attacks. At this point, players need to use the Eikon Abilities as much as they can after every cooldown, and in between use the Eikon Feats and Melee Attack Combos to continuously deal damage to Gigas. As the Will Gauge meter fills up again, Gigas will get back on his feet and players will have to repeat the process of taking him down either by staggering and then depleting his HP or they can keep attacking him with combos to deplete his HP.

Gigas Attacks
Now, if we talk about Gigas attacks, they are not hard to evade because they are normal strikes. Players can dodge his strikes by moving to his side but there is one main attack of Gigas from which players would have to look out.
- ⦁ Big Swing: Gigas will swing his weapon in full 360 degrees, hitting everything that gets close to the weapon. Players would have to evade in the back direction and maintain a safe distance from Gigas. As Gigas is about to finish the move, he will do a last strike with its weapon.

Gigas will start doing the Big Swing move once players have depleted half of his HP. While he is doing this attack, be patient and once he is finished with the move, players can aggress on him again until he gets defeated.
