Sons of the Forest: How to Get Clean Water

The patch 07 update of Sons of the Forest has a number of changes to the game that includes, a new weapon, a new final boss, a drivable golf cart, and much more. One of the key mechanics that were changed in the latest update was of getting water. As getting water was fairly easy in Sons of the Forest than in The Forest, its predecessor, developers have changed the pond and river water to dirty water that contains harmful parasites. Drinking dirty water will increase the dehydration meter to some extent but the character will take some damage by drinking water.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to get clean water in Sons of the Forest.

How to get Clean Water in Sons of the Forest

To get Clean Water in Sons of the Forest’s latest update, there are two ways.

  • Craft Rain Catcher
  • Boil Dirty Water

The Rain Catcher is a simple structure that can be made with the following materials.

  • 16x Sticks
  • 1x Turtle Shell

Both of these materials are easy to get and once players have the materials, they need to open the Recipe Book and go to the Utility Section to craft the Rain Catcher. After making the Rain Catcher, place it somewhere in the open and wait for the rain. As the rain starts, the turtle shell will gather fresh and clean water in it.

Now, for the second method, players will require a Cooking Pot to boil the dirty water and make it free of Parasites similar to the original game. Once players have the Cooking Pot, they can follow the following steps to boil the water.

  • Open the inventory and select the Cooking Pot.
  • Go near the water and hold the E button to fill the water in the Cooking Pot.
  • Now, make the Fire and interact with it and then select the Cooking Pot from the inventory to place the cooking pot on the fire.
  • Now, wait for a bit until the water is boiled.

After that, players can interact with the Cooking Pot to drink the boiled water and get no harm from it.
