Blasphemous 2: How to Perform Execution

Blasphemous 2 has several combat mechanics that players should consider mastering. Every move and encounter can be tackled in various ways, and one of the moves to take down enemies and gain more rewards is execution. Performing an execution grants players fervor, which fills up the fervor bar, allowing players to recite quick verses and chants more frequently. Executing enemies also grants tears of atonement and martyrdom points, which are valuable resources that allow players to upgrade their character.
Want to know how you can benefit from performing execution in Blasphemous 2? Then you’re in the right place. This guide will help you perform execution on enemies that you encounter.
How to Perform Execution in Blasphemous 2
Execution can be performed on small enemies as well as giant enemies, but you will need to stun them with your attacks first. Not every slash or attack has a stunning effect on enemies, but it can be accomplished if you attack them at a faster rate. One of the best early weapons to attack quickly is the Double Rapiers: Sarmiento and Centella. Attacking with this weapon will have a higher chance of leaving your enemies stunned.
When an enemy is stunned, you can perform the execution by pressing the E button.
Another way to successfully stun enemies is by hitting them without taking any single point of damage. If you take damage from enemies, it will significantly reduce the chances of stunning them when you attack them rapidly. It is better to master the movements and dodge their attacks whenever they strike.
Alternatively, parrying small enemies can also stun them. This will mostly make them vulnerable, but it also has a chance to stun them, allowing you to perform an execution.
Importance of Performing Executions in Blasphemous 2
As mentioned earlier, performing executions rewards you with various resources that will help you both in combat and in upgrading your character.
- Tears of Atonement is the main currency of the game that you can use to buy items from certain NPCs and upgrade weapons.
- Martyrdom Points fill up the limit of Martyrdom, which can be seen in the inventory. Filling up Martyrdom will grant you a Mark of Martyrdom that you can use to:
- Unlock Altarpiece Slots.
- Improve the skill tree of weapons (Weapon Memories).

So, make sure to perform execution whenever you can in your journey to earn extra rewards instead of gaining only Tears of Atonement.
