God of War Ragnarok: How to Get Blades of Chaos

Kratos is a God of War and the previous events in the 9 Realms will haunt him and the All-Father (Odin) and his son will seek revenge on him. Kratos will have to continue his journey with his Atreus in the Realms and you’ll have to gear up completely for all the fights and battles with enemies and Gods. The best weapon is the Blades of Chaos which is the main weapon of God of War in the early series, you can get it in the new God of War Ragnarok.

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to get the Blades of Chaos in God of War Ragnarok.

Getting Blades of Chaos

Blades of Chaos is the main weapon of God of War in the original series and Kratos has left that weapon because that made him an angry monster. He wanted to live a normal life so he came to the Midgard Realm and start living there. You’ll go through with the rest of the story in God of War (2018) and you’ll also know that Kratos get back the Blades of Chaos in the previous God of War but as the God of War Ragnarok starts, you’ll notice that you won’t have the Blades of Chaos on you.

After going through the starting phase of the game and reaching home, in the cutscenes, you’ll see the Blades of Chaos in his house but you won’t be able to collect them. When you come back home after searching for Atreus, you’ll see them again but can’t pick them up due to the cutscene. A lot of players might be thinking that they can get it after the cutscene but they won’t be able to until they have defeated Thor in the boss fight.

After looking for Atreus and returning home, you’ll get to meet Thor and Odin. Odin will make a peace offer to Kratos but Kratos will refuse the offer which will lead to a fight against Thor on the spot. You’ll have to defeat Thor in this fight and this fight has 3 different phases that you have to survive in order to defeat Thor.

Once you’ve defeated Thor, you’ll meet Brok and Sindri. They’ll help you get back home to Atreus and then their journey will begin. Kratos will pick up the Blade of Chaos himself because he knows that he has to go through very dangerous enemies which require his full power to defeat them.

There is no other way to get the Blade of Chaos early in the game. You just have to go through the story and Kratos will equip the Blades of Chaos himself and then you’ll be able to use them in the fights against the enemies.
